I still can't believe they dropped that line for the film... and seriously... I thought Zaphod having a hidden head... that's just lazy writing
@jog25012 жыл бұрын
@@Slashkamr IIRC, they dropped a lot of lines for the film, many of which were punchlines for jokes. It was painfully obvious that the script editors for the film didn't actually understand Adams' sense of humour. Although some bits of the film looked great (and I was delighted to see the Marvin from the BBC TV series make a cameo appearance in the Vogon waiting room) the script was so butchered in places I just cannot bring myself to watch the film again.

It's a small touch, but I like how the table of contents at 0:10 matches up with the stuff Ford reads from the brochure. First he talks about the Improbability Drive (the yellow heart), then cybernetics/robots (Eddie/a computer) then Genuine People Personalities (Marvin/an android). Very nice attention to detail :D

I believe a quotation is pretty relevant here :p "One of the major selling points of that wholy remarkable book, the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy [...], is its compendious and occasionally accurate glossary. For instance, the statistics relating to the geosocial nature of the universe are all deftly set out between pages 576324 and 576326. The simplistic style is partly explained by the fact that its editors, having to meet a publishing deadline, copied the information off the back of a packet of breakfast cereal, hastily embroidering it with a fe footnotes in order to avoid prosecution under the incomprehensively tortuous galactic copyright laws." :p
