What’s particularly special about this performance is that usually in male/female duets the male takes the lower harmony and the female takes the higher- but John and Olivia flipped it and John absolutely belted out that final note (high A) in his upper register !

I have to disagree. Delta and Gurramul is better.

Thank you for your lovely reaction 😊 I hope you had a wonderful holiday! This duet is so stunning with these two legends of Australia ❤❤ The song was originally written for John and is on his 1980 album Uncovered. Recorded first as a solo, but they decided to turn it into a duet for this concert, and thank goodness they did!! What a special performance. Thank you for coming back to John and including Olivia and also for adding my home town to your list 👍 😊 Can't wait to see what you pick next. Have a great day! ❤❤

This was written for John by Graeham Goble (from Little River Band). It was originally a solo song by John and was released in 1980. For this concert they made it into a duet. Thanks for the reaction!

Livvie and John started out together at 16 and 17 years old. They remained lifelong friends and John was the last person she spoke to on the phone before she passed with her family. John lost his best friend and manager, Glenn to complications from COVID a week earlier and his wife had to put him back together after both calls. He had his wife, Jilly’s permission to kiss Livvie once a performance for the 3 months that concert toured. Jilly was also Livvie’s friend. Thank you so much for seeing that kiss for what it was. So many think it was much more, they are both such sweet souls. Most do not realise that Livvy came home for 6 months of the year. She built the Cancer Wellness Centre in Melbourne so everyone could feel like they were home and be as happy as they could be during treatment. Every year there is a walk in Melbourne to keep funding that Centre and Livvie used to lead it. She raised her sisters three children after she lost her to cancer. Now that walk is lead by her daughter and her niece. Livvie had a home on acres overlooking the ocean. She built a retreat next to her home and took cancer patients home with her that needed peace and rest. I think you just watched two of the kindest people we know sing what was one of John’s solo songs. Now we prefer this version. I didn’t know this was one of John’s songs before my daughter told us on stage before she sang it. She won the Grand Final with that song. One of the judges wrote that she never listened to his music because she didn’t like his first song but after hearing that song she was sorry. She was going home to listen to all of his music she could find. Thank you from Queensland, Australia.

I love how John turns his head to the left, away from Livvy when he belts that top note. It’s a very polite thing for a singer with a huge voice to do. He could’ve blasted her off her feet.

This series of concerts was organised to get Livvy and Anthony Warlow back on stage after both had gone through their own battles with cancer. The concerts were sell outs. John and Livvy have been friends since forever. 😍😍 RIP Olivia. We miss you.

It's such a beautiful song. Written by Graeme Goble (of the Little River Band) specifically for John's 1980 comeback album Uncovered. It has been covered by a few artists over the years including Kate DaRaugo on American Idol and LRB also. Hence not widely known out of Australia. Thanks for the reaction ❤❤❤

Welcome back. In Australia earlier this week we had an event called "The Logies". It is similar to the Academy Awards but for Australian TV. Categories range from best supporting actors to Best News presenters and the final award is the Gold Logie for the best out of all. Anyhow, during the Event two singers (Guy Sebastien and Jessica Mauboy) did a tribute to John Farnham. Just paste this in the YT search "JOHN FARNHAM TRIBUTE AT THE LOGIES 2024, Australias National Anthem" The clip is around 6 mins. There are 2 songs Guy does the 1st one and Jessica/Guy do the 2nd "You're The Voice" There is another video "Mitch Tambo | You’re the Voice | Live Performance Video". Mitch sings the song in The Aboriginal language for almost all fo the song. He switch's to Aussie English near the end of the song. Mitch performed this song at the concert just after 1/3 of New South Wales went up in flames in 2019/2020.

This song was actually performed by John Farnham by himself it's actually love songs that are married to different people is basically a love affair song John Farnham can sing any song and I mean any song this song was actually performed at the main event it is actually free on KZbin to watch I'm at Olivia Newton John every time now I miss her dearly John Farnham has had cancer last year he is free from cancer he had to have part of his jaw removed John Farnham is 75 years old now he only sings her home now I don't blame him because my father had the same issue it basically stuffed his throat up so I just had to go out that it hasn't happened to John because John's voice is replaceable if you ever do another one of his songs to help the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is wearing a white t-shirt and no this isn't the Beatles track this is what John concocted out of that song just listened to it because it is actually a song about mental health just listen to the music and you understand

Try Comic Conversations and Burn for You as they seem to be more of your style for John Farnham. And try Delta Goodram. A lot of these songs were written by a Little River Band member.
