Olivia is my boss...........such a divine, humble, beautiful caring human being. I am very blessed to be able to spend a lot of time with her. John Farnham's voice......................well us Aussies have no words. He is on his own unique level, out of reach of all others. Just so damn epic..........and a pure down to earth gentleman. Met him in 1978, then again in 2009 - shares lovely stories.💖💖💖

I originally heard this as a solo by John with MSO, and the heartbreak in his solo rendition was palpable; hearing it as a duet, with someone who blends so seamlessly with John as Olivia does, gave me goosebumps....the romantic tension, even though they both have partners, could be cut with a knife....

Two artists, that us Aussies are so proud of. Wondering if you realise that Olivia is the same performer who you saw in the 'Grease' film clip with John Travolta. She is an all round sensational person and artist. She has spent the last 2 decades doing massive fund raising for holistic cancer treatment in Melbourne, and now cruelly battling her 3rd experience with cancer, while loudly advocating how wonderful Marijuana oil has been for her - she's doing incredibly well. Because of her British birth she has been honoured by the Queen, and is now officially Dame Olivia Newton John.

Love your discovering Olivia Newton-John's extraordinary talents across the years. This duet and another one "Burn for you" from the "Two Strong Hearts" tour just lovely. John Farnham's voice is soooo amazing and his dueting with ON-J reminds me always of the commentary about Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers...She can do everything he can do, except in high heels and backwards. :) LOVE them together to duet....only wish they would do a album of standards together to wrap their vocals around a songbook of songs that stood the test of time to reinterpret.

Oh gosh, this just turned up in my feed and I teared up immediately. Olivia Newton John was a shining light - everyone loved her. Or to put in John Travolta's words through his tears, everyone was in love with her. Now John Farnham faces an uncertain future. Late last year he had a tumour removed from his mouth that involved radical surgery to remove half his jaw, and was back in hospital with a serious respiratory infection a few weeks ago. Get well Farnsey!❤❤❤

Part of the money for that concert went to Olivia’s cancer hospital and wellness centre she built for breast cancer. So we had a nice place to be treated a bit like home. She also does wellness stays at her home. If anyone needs help John is there and they have been friends for years. My husband went to school with Livvie. They are both really kind people. Yes, if you saw them they would both stop to say Hi, they are so normal. No, we try not to even react to famous people. They are allowed to live their lives here. My daughter smiles at them but she was one of them. They scare me. My daughter won a song contest singing that song. I didn’t know it was one of John’s songs until she said so before she sang it. The judges didn’t know it either and one of them now loves John. It is one of 2 songs I have of my daughter singing so I love it. It is a $40,000 fine if you try to record most live shows. Livvie is now fighting breast cancer for the 3rd time. It is 4th stage metastasized but she will never give in. John is now 72 years old. I wish I was going to another one of his concerts. He is still the Voice.

Oh MRM what a great choice you made this time! (polite golf clap) John and Olivia basically grew up together as contemporaries on the Australian pop scene through the late 60s , early 70's until Olivia's lead roll in the movie Grease and her international career skyrocketed (sidenote- there is a great youtube video of her singing with ABBA and Andy Gibb just as she made it big) "The Main Event ", from which this clip is taken, was a series of national concerts in which the two perform with Australian opera star Anthony Warlow. I was working for a local TV station at the time and the three of them actually rehearsed this concert in one of our empty set storage areas. I was lucky enough to meet all three performers as I was tasked with hustling up some tables and chairs for them to use between songs, and yes, they are as humble, genuine and likable in person as they appear onstage. I was also lucky enough to attend this concert, of which this song was a personal highlight. Nowdays I host a small mobile karaoke show. When my regular attendees ask for tips on singing I will point them to this clip, for what makes a good performance great, is telling the story of the song. John and Olivia are so believable as "star-crossed lovers" in this song it will bring a tear my eye every time. Sadly, Olivia is currently battling cancer, so perhaps you could include her in your prayers

@@MoMoMyPup10 You beat me to it! How is it that people don't know she was a huge star before Grease? Three Grammys, two #1 hits, a slew of American Music and People's Choice Awards, and yet people seem to think she was plucked from obscurity when she starred in Grease. She was the BIG star in the cast when they were filming, because Saturday Night Fever wasn't released until several months after the filming of Grease had wrapped.
