It's harder for DDs today than ever. More radar ships, even on BBs and other DDs. Reload boosters, fucked up F skills, too fast in high tier. When you are open, you can be faster back to port than your "non supporting BB" can shoot a second time. Many people can't handle that, because they just want to play some games after a stressful day and there's your recipe for disaster.

you have to be a special kinda dumb to play DD's now days.. Its not like it used to be. Meh.. I used to Run DD's all the time.. I don't play them at all now. Just not fun at all.

absolute correct assessment, i dont know how many times i was all alone in my DD on the flank ( where i spawned ) after about 2 minutes, cuz my CA & BB decided to join the lemming train in the middle, and then you have to face off against a radar DD, radar & hydro CA, a BB and of course the "beloved" sky cancer

You got EXTREMELY lucky that you didn't die in the first 2 minutes of that match before you even took out the first enemy DD. The second torpedo salvo was a close as possible to not hitting you. You would have been just another DD player you complain about. EDIT: 10 seconds later the 2nd enemy dd's torpedoes going right by both bow and stern as you sit perpendicular to the them. LUCK. What you say about DD players may be true, however you are just another bad dd player, rushing one vs two with no team support. You were just a lucky hypocrite.

Let us be Fair and honest. Every second ship has Hydro or Radar. Nearly all ships have Torpedos. Then they have often a stupid Captain Perk called RPF. The most Important thing is try not to die in the First 5 min even if the Team stresses you to cap. Some DD are just not Ideal to Cap at the Beginning, because of Torpedos not loaded or the Enemy has more Radar Gun Boats etc. What does Wargaming bring out to help DD a new Secondary BB that can shoot 15KM with Secondary. Then you have BB Players moaning at DD that are not doing there Job and just Camping 25KM at the end of the Map instead of Shooting the Cruisers and helping.

Meanwhile BB monkeys demand DDs rush to the cap to get it early and if a DD spots enemy presence first or guards the flank he gets reported. Its not really a DD specific problem but a general problem with so many bad players. Some of them of course play DD at some point as well and you end up with the infamous 2 minute DD. In general the 2 best advice for DD beginners are: 1) Stay alive, early caps are not worth your ship! 2) Dont just listen to demands of your teammates, they usually tell you to do what is best for THEM, not you, and in most cases dont know jackshit about the game

A lot more luck than judgment with the first torps of the game too. He just sailed dead straight out into open water after being spotted by the two DDs.

doing the right thing will help to win games , YES , it do but ........ do DD got any for real support , close support , AA cover , fire cover , suppression fire ....... the fact is as of todays game meta , DD's prime most and only duty is to stay alive .. before anything else and let's face it most DD players are just average players .... so expecting them to perform beyond their capacity while the team almost always just camp way back , unwilling and unable to support , when enemy are all furnished with all the countermeasures .. well it just do not bode well and that is why we are seeing this weird case of DD willing to forward but then die fighting there ( cause they are alone and un-supported and basically in enemy kill zone ) or they hang back and wait for their turn and chance ( which in many cases never come , or too late in the game to be of any use ) And worse , many DD players, this one here included just had zero confidence and zero trust towards the BB and Cruisers .. the team had shown they will not support and if enemy push they will be turning tail even faster than the DD trying to smoke up , so why care about this so call team work when there is never a team from the start I sure agree with all the saying about what a DD are to do to contribute towards a victory , but its hypocritical to ask DD players to do all that when there is no calling for BB to forward to TANK , and Cruisers to forward to give the needed support and utility , and if those other types are not forth coming to group and fight then one really cannot fault the DD for just lone wolfing it and in many cases that will indeed lead to early one way ticket back to port , its just the nature of asking the weakest type to go forward into harm's way with every possible countermeasure enemy had and yet the team not really helping at all

think the problem is twofold bad dd players like torp dd whitout conseal build or bumrush cap and smoke up the second thay get in the cap and nonsupport from other players. not even sure how many times i have gone forward to spot in a dd with a bb or two and cruser/s see that thay folow me and the second i spot thay turn and burn so bad dd players make the rest play overly cautius making it harder to do the dd`s job and overly cautius players making dd`s do stupid shit to get a decent/good game and dd`s doing stupid shit makes the rest play even further back just to be safe

With torpedoes, its best to fire them in staggered salvos. Getting a flood that the target damage controls, and then send another set that they can’t damage control.

thing is, some destroyers should plan more from afar. with radar, planes and hydro, some dds dare not approach too much close to bases and such. Also some cruisers can easily do the cap and scout role, with smoke, radar, hydro and planes. But too many lazy traditionalists cannot handle changes and newer meta play.

At the same time, you got extremely lucky in this match not once but twice with enemy DDs torps. You got perfect gap in both, if not you would have eaten torps and probably died in first 2 min. So I dont think this is a good example of how a DD should play facing two enemy DDs, and you had CV support for spotting.

i do that on purpose. The water splashes make it difficult for the enemy player to aim at you. Try it and see if it helps

Too many people are like that. If they want some cruiser to push a cap and most likely die, but the cruiser rather spams HE at BB's behind an island makes them incredibly upset to a point they insult their teammates. In the end they just blame the entire team because they played their own way.

I am playing only DD's and have my acc since 2011. for wot but since that is same account,I have less than 900 matches but I think that I am decent DD player with +-1500 exp on average but yea,when you have on other side ship that have detection range of 5,4 and I am in blyskawica with 6,8......I can only play from behind and only finish all that ships on couple of thousands HP 🫣 this is only example but this is my usual tactics for blyskawica....that ship is only good for earning money.Torpedoes 8km,detection 6.8.....not good at all but kagero with 5.4 is other story ....

He played fine. Got a bit lucky with the torps in the smoke but otherwise played well. He did get 3 kills.
