Russian destroyers play less like destroyers and more like light cruisers with no citadels. The way I like to play them is a full gunboat build keeping my guns hot, annoying and distracting the red team, remember every shot taken at you is a shot that's not taken at your blueberry teammates. The hybrid line you would play a bit more like a destroyer should, capping and picking engagements with other dds but with usually pretty low dpm so you need to take fights cautiously.

Would you agree that the German alternate line and Italian dds are gunboats primarily? And that the Japanese main line, euro line and pan Asian line are primarily torpedo dds? Ik is that the US, UK, and Germany are hybrids

euro line are the best hybrids imo. the can be either a jack-of-all-trades, a torp boat, a gun boat or even a devastating AA platform

From the PC wiki the Russians and French destroyers have the same play style and that's to build into range and daka my Khaba with a epic range mod I can 16 km gun range

I would argue if you don’t know what you like to start with the British DDs. You have more smokes so if u burn one when u shouldn’t u have a surplus. U have a long duration sonar to help if u aren’t good with predicting torpedos. Good enough guns to hold your own against anything if u get some help. And the torps ability to single fire makes taking out BBs or cruisers pinching u much easier than having to get angled to hit enough from a normal rack. Jutland/Daring can heal back about 5K too if u get to T8/LT

I am maining japanese DDs. They are awesome, you can get extremely close without being spotted, throw a massive ton of torpedos and repeat in not much time. And just a single torpedo is serious damage. Also, idk about the guns being “weak” just today I fought and won many 1v1s using the Akatsuki. The great thing is you have 4 canon that can point straight back. And they hit pretty hard against other DDs at least,

I absolutely love the guides and the target you're going for with these videos. And I love your honesty.. but really you kinda don't have a lot of experience with most of the destroyers it seems.. like every country you were like well.. I don't really know much about playing these but here's what the pros and cons might be .. maybe lol. I would suggest taking some time to grind out these lines and put a follow up video on the different nations as you play through them.. maybe like one nation a month or something.. idk. Just a thought. But again love the goal and videos just trying to help with my opinion and advice.

Appreciate it. Most of the DDs have the same goal at the end of the day. Getting caps, dishing out torps, and using the guns when necessary. I am pretty confident I could play literally any ship in the game and do well with it. Even though I may not have everything researched, it still doesn't mean I don't know what they're capable of :D I pay attention to all the new stuff that comes to the game and their unique gimmicks and whatnot.

@@Dr_GhostYT I got Loyang. Love it. I’m 25 games in and have a 76% win rate. She’s strong. With the coupon that came with this update, any ships you’d recommend? I’m leaning towards Plymouth or Atlantico. I play more battleships, and Atlantico sounds fun, but I’ve heard Plymouth is OP. Thoughts?

Japanese guns should sleep on. Sure they are not the greatest on reload but they hit hard with he on other DD's. So be careful if they get a jump on another dd player in a fight that initial salvo could really affect the outcome of that gun fight. Play that second German DD line it will become your favorite line on DD's they can handle light Cruisers effectively especially when they give broadsides thinking they have a gun advantage. Those 6 inch guns will punish them rapid firing and causing citadels causing most light cruisers healing ability ineffective.

@@Dr_GhostYT yeah I saw that ans missed it somehow but I have been playing with this destroyer seems like a good ship. I know it's farragut sister ship but it plays just as well. My commander build is Dewey,bay,and swirski. Knows it weird build but dewy helps with torpedo speed and reload. The guns on monaghan doesn't really need inspiration to buff it.

The British tech lines are the best in my opinion. Use to play German ships alot but once i got into British lines stop play other nations and just play British ships now. Smogathon with British destroyers nothing comes close to them. And you can gunboat with British too. But i find myself going back to British nation. Favorite cruiser and it's a battlecruiser king George V.
