Darby Allin is who I identify with the most on wrestling right now. From skateboarding, to daredevil shit, to what he symbolize and an underdog. I can see why a 15 year old Punk would've seen him as his favorite wrestler. I'm 27 and he's definitely one of mine Darby Allin is actually THE strongest Pillar of AEW

He was discovered by cody when cody was on the indies and wrestling for a promotion in the northeast called northeast wrestling. Cody was chamo at the time and met darby at one of the shows in waterbury, CT. It was a show the cody faced kurt angle in a cage match that was a killer match. Darby was killing it for that company and finally got recognized by cody. It wasnt until 2 or 3 yrs later that aew was gunna start. Aew was announced that Jan 1st and northeast wrestling had a show months later where a lot of the elite members showed up and wrestled. It was there at that show which was also in waterbury, ct where a few wrestlers including darby were offered their spot in aew. Carmelo hayes, who was known as Christian casanova at that time was another person who wrestled for northeast wrestling at that time. I'm not positive if he was offered a spot in aew at that time but I honestly think he was, a lot of the top talent for NEW was offered spots. Since then darby has been doing what he always did, and that is KILL IT!

Darby Allin is without a doubt my number one favorite wrestler in AEW (used to be Jon Moxley). What I love about Darby wasn't just his gimmick or his daredevil stunts. It's his ability to make an average match turn to something watchable, a good match turn to something replayable, and a great match turn into a masterpiece. His in-ring work was one of most fascinating things I've ever seen in AEW; he has a great pacing that can match the likes of Pac and Omega, he's sort of an unconventional yet a bit tenacious for someone who does some technical wrestling. And the best part of his in-ring work that made me drew to Darby 100% is his selling. Some may not agree with me, but I believe he's one of, if not, the best sellers in AEW, let alone in all of professional wrestling today. Every time he takes a bump and every time he reacts to the bump and the damages to it made the matches felt as real as it gets, and you can at least understand the pain he's going through during his matches. With all of those being said, I would LOVE to see Darby become AEW World Champion in the future. Maybe give it 2-3 years. For now, what I WANT from Darby is to have a one-on-one wrestling match with Kenny Omega. Darby Allin vs Kenny Omega is my number one AEW dream match that hasn't happened yet so far. And when the time comes for the match to finally happen, I will absolutely mark out all the way, because I know that Darby and Kenny will put on a fast-paced cruiserweight-classic wrestling showdown.

Man we should take a moment to appreciate AEW here for pushing him and giving major spots like teaming up with Sting, wrestling with returning Punk, etc despite knowing that casuals or random channel flippers as I call them will not be interested in him. We all know that Darby would have never reached the height of success he has in AEW if he was sports entertaining. Sometimes I feel God, Universe or whatever high power there is has manifested AEW for wrestlers like Darby, Kingston, Mox, etc who in words of CM Punk don't fit the mould of what someone thinks a Professional Wrestler should be. Even though I'm not a fan of Darby but it feels so good to see him achieving his dreams after going though so much of hardships all thanks to AEW.

I think these 'Story So Far' vids are great. I sometimes have a hard time keeping up with everything that's happening. Matter a fact, after Hangman Page won the title I was pretty meh on the whole thing. After watching you vids on his story, it made me appreciate the title win so much more. Everybody is comparing Darby Allin to Jeff Hardy, CM Punk, or Sting and even though those comparisons are very fair, there is one wrestler I see that I can compare him to: Mick Foley. Outside the crazy spots, Mick got over as an underdog who was never supposed to be a main event star in storyline but just did anyway. In fact, Mick winning the WWE title on a pre-taped Raw was the first time Raw beat Nitro in the ratings war. Tony Schiavone himself spoiled the match result live which caused millions to tune in to a pre-taped Raw to see Mick win the big one. There will never be a wrestler with that same level of fan support like Mick Foley that changed the landscape of professional wrestling. I feel that Darby has that similar energy despite his stock being lowered a little. Maybe I'm wrong, but the guy gives it his all is one of the best sellers in the game right now.
