Michael, brother. This song’s message and your enhancement of it resonates with me so much. I am brought to tears by thoughts of all of the times throughout my life that I wasn’t so kind to myself. Because of this song, I am going to try to cut myself some more slack. Thank you and thank you Rose Cousins for this masterful piece.

The self-loathing is real. I genuinely thank you, Michael. This one hit me particularly hard tonight. Been struggling with the doubt and the dreaded, “aware of being aware” theme which you beautifully reasoned through. Knowing exactly what you need to do to make changes, over-analyzing, and still not being decisive. Then blaming yourself for being a fraud. Sometimes though, a simple connection through a song and a personal interpretation can be an affirmation. And your insight and spirit came through for me at just the right time.

Wow, that was amazing! Couple of comments: 1. This is the first time I’ve seen Michael let a song play through completely unbroken. And he does it TWICE! But then again, how could you interrupt her? 2. The lyrics are incredible, but did anyone notice her voice? Stunningly beautiful! 3. Could you imagine trying to cover this song? It would be impossible. All the offbeat lyrics. And somehow she makes it work, with sustained words and perfect silences. Just amazing.

This was a message for me today. I'm going through some rough times and decided today I have to sell my electric guitar that I've had for 45 years. It killed me to get it appraised and all, but this song, this post, helped ease my soul. Selling my guitar makes me feel broken, even though I know I need to it. I'm broken, but I'm chosen.

So sorry for this! I hope you can get another one soon. let me know if I can help!

@@Guitargate Your message means so much: I felt so alone having to sell my guitar: that wasn't just selling a thing, it was the death of a dear old friend whose voice I'll never hear again. Thank you as always. 💕. As an artist I have a vision I want to create. Call it Art A. After the paint and paper and ink have had their input I am gifted with a piece, Art B. If someone says they like Art B, I can thank them and appreciate that work. Or, as I see all the time, I can explain in detail why it is not as *good* as Art A. The only way to *improve* is to value and treasure where I am right now and use that place as a foundation for future, perhaps unexpected, growth/ripening. I need that reminder as often as possibke. Today you are there for me. 💕🙋🎶🎨

This lady is one of the most accomplished artists I have heard in years and this song sends chills down my spine every single time I hear it. Just wow. It seems from the comments that you are very involved in getting the word out about artists you may have not heard of, Michael...well, I was put onto Rose by another East Coast Canadian independent artist, who I only discovered recently and she mentioned that I just have to delve into Rose's catalogue if I know what's good for me ! If you are interested in hearing about her, what is the best way of me getting in touch? She mainly plays guitar and piano and to my mind, she is one of the most incredible storytellers in song I have heard in decades of listening to music.... straight off the bat, she reminded me of a female Jackson Browne with her songwriting.

Hi Michael! First of all, I love your videos. :) I'd like to see you doing some about steve lukather. For example Toto playing While My Guitar Gently Weeps Live from Amsterdam, or Red Hous Live from 1991. Also his interpretation of Little Wings in Paris 1990 is the best version of this song, in my opinion. Of course there is much more from Toto and Steve Lukather's solo stuff, that is worth to be recommanded
