Well the coachman in the animated Disney movie is as adult and so are the workers. In this case however I think he’s meant to be a teenager Usher started his career as a teen in the 90s when this movie came out. His voice sounds higher than the adults. He looks young as well about 17-19. I always thought since seeing the animated film that Pleasure Island is run on dark magic. All the people who work for it are demons or bad fairies it’s how they’re able to lure the bad kids and turn them into donkeys.

The whole pinnocio story is creepy in general. A little boy who grows a hard wood nose when he lies, a place called pleasure island that turns little boys into asses that they sell, getting swallowed by a sperm whale? Idk, I think whoever wrote the story had other allegories.
@GenGamesUniverse4 жыл бұрын
Actually in the book, the reason why the young boys turn into donkeys is because of a disease that causes them to actually become one which means that they're "making jackasses out of themselves" and that the ringleader/Coachman, is Mestophales in disguise and that whilst they sing that song, they're actually "signing a contract" basically selling their souls to the devil and that the devil sorta collects by turning them into donkeys/jackasses and selling them to circuses and slave labor in salt mines. In this version of the film, Pinocchio is actually unlucky compared to the Disney version. In the Disney version, he escapes from the island with Jiminy Cricket in search for his father, but here, he's actually sold to a circus and is forced to do acrobatics, but injures himself when he sees the Blue Fairy in human disguise and is thrown into the ocean to drown and then his pelt/fur would become a drum. There is also several differences between these two and the book, is that it's not actually a sperm whale/white whale that eats them up, it's actually a giant shark (ironically which has asthma), but yea, the endings are the same - Pinocchio "dies", then gets brought back to life as a real boy.
