Should we pledge shares for margin or not is a question i often asked myself when i started trading. There are a lot of advantages as well as disadvantages of pledging shares which we will discuss in this video! I had Pledged most of my stocks but i am working on unpledging all of them and keeping trading capital completely different from investment capital.

I have doubt suppose i buy some liquidbees for 2 lakhs i would get somewhere close to 1.8 lakhs as margin rite and also i dont have any other amount in my account and say i use that amount to sell options and say one week i make a loss of 2k will the broker sell some of the shares to get that amount or would the wait till all of my capital has been wiped out or do they check it monthly basis

Intraday/Option Selling can be done with pledged amount It your position requires 1lakh You can only have 50% coming from your pledged amount (collateral) and remaining needs to be in cash An interest of 0.05% per day if not maintained required amount of cash for the Trade Chipping in with the knowledge I know Can be wrong also Hope this helps :)

I would say can pledge upto 2-2.25L worth and keep rest for any losses that might occur since losses have to be paid with cash not collateral

Bhaiya mere mene 10 lakh ke shares pledge kiye. 8 lakh mila margin. 4.5 lakh ki maine margin use karli 3 lot nifty future lene mein toh 2.25 lakh par koi bhi interest charge nahi hoga, lekin baaki 2.25 lakh par 18% per annum ka interest charge hoga. Agar mere trading account mein bilkul bhi cash nahi hai toh.
