I like the different brush strokes showing in the sky. I decided today that the weather is getting warm enough for me in London to get outside and paint again. Next weekend I will be out in the parks again

Thank you Michael for a wonderful painting. And thank you for the tip of turning the canvas out of direct light to better judge the values!

Great brushwork and color. I did not know if the blue shadows on the distant hill would work, but they did. A very attractive and welcoming piece.

@@chamberlainpaintingsMichael, a beautiful plethora in the sky’s base, standing images, as shoulder to shoulder, above a myriad of emotion filled countenance, each gaze upon. There is more in this beautiful painting Michael.

@@chamberlainpaintings Foreground right, a contented one sleeps , in the sea, the white water waves as the thoughts carry dreams, to the near rock face, see there , in gowns , some green , elite dancing matrons , see the distant mountain face, deep midground, others travel towards to join .

Two hours is fast, especially at that size! I agree about the rounded stretcher bars. I hate that, I'm not sure why they make them that way. I guess that maybe it's easier to stretch the canvas over a rounded edge than a sharp 9O degree edge?...who knows. Anyways it came out great as usual.👏

I love this piece- sky is terrific, front headland reads SO well. I find myself bothered by the slanting lights on the back headlands- feel repetitious- is there another way to change some of the shapes so they still read as light and shadow? This is where knowing your subject and loving it as you do gives you a creative advantage. I dont know the coast. I can make changes in the mountain environments here I know so well- the many possible patterns and colors. Great vjdeo!

Thanks Elisabeth! I think it could be fun to experiment with those distant shapes.
