Went to fish at maribyrnong and I caught the strangest fish I've ever seen, it was like a flathead but more cylinder looking

Hi, it sounds like it could have been a goby. These small fish came in to Australia in the ballast water of Japanese ships. You catch them occasionally on the Maribyrnong River.

Hi, the mullet were caught at Point Leo beach.

thanks. Most of the Mornington Peninsula can be good. It depends on the fishing you want to do but there are piers from Frankston to Portsea that are worth a try as well as plenty of bay beaches that can be productive. If you have surf gear there are good back beaches as well.
