Plenty of Rain Headed for the Texas Gulf Coast

Numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected again today across the Texas Gulf Coast, Rio Grande Valley, Coastal Bend, Coastal Plains, and Southeast Texas. Heavy rainfall may result in localized flash flooding - with high water on roads and rapid rises on streams, creeks, and rivers. Rain chances will be highest during the afternoon, but precipitation will continue tonight into Thursday morning. More rain is expected in the same areas on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. More isolated rainfall will be possible in Central Texas, Hill Country, Brazos Valley, and Northeast and East Texas. Severe thunderstorms are not likely, but gusty winds and brief tropical funnel clouds can’t be ruled out.
High temperatures will be a bit wonky over the next several days. The northwestern half of Texas will be the hottest, with sunshine and low rain chances. We’ll see high temperatures up into the 90s to nearly 100 degrees through the weekend. The southeastern third to half of Texas will be cooler, with rain and clouds. High temperatures may struggle to get out of the 70s for some locations, with 80s more likely. We all will return to typical summer weather next week as rain chances diminish, and the heat dome returns to the Plains. Get ready for the 90s and 100s once again. No tropical mischief is expected to impact Texas over the next ten days.

Having lived in the Texas Hill Country for 20 years, I can confirm that this has been the BEST SUMMER EVER!! It hasn't hit 100 degrees here yet, and it looks like low 90s into early August. That's completely insane. Let's keep it going...

We here in Mills County, Goldthwaite Texas got and still are getting some great rain . Really foggy out now indicating that ground temperatures above that of the air . Thankful and hadn’t seen actual fog in probably 4-5 years

Good afternoon, David Reimer . Thank you for keeping us updated with the latest weather. San Antonio had some rain last night coming down hard. we had a little puddle with some water in it, and the birds and squirrels love it 😀. And it kept San Antonio under 💯 degrees 😊 . Maybe some more tonight. I'm looking forward to more rain. And the electricity went out at 8pm last night and came back on at 5 this morning. I missed listening to my radio last night.
