She’s 22, she went there, she did what work she could, and thank God she was able to get back out after doing that. And she’s spent quite a bit of time in the west clearly and her interview style is very good for us, she knows how to perfectly engage with westerners and endear her self to us, she’s a smart and good gal and I can’t help but love and respect her, this kind of thing is necessary if you want to get people from here to accept her and to understand what’s going on. If she came on and displayed “too much” anger and sadness unfortunately a lot of people would instantly tune out or would assume she is less objective. I’ll be sending this interview to my family.

The Palestinians need to fight for their rights in the court of international public opinion using legal arguments that can be unequivocally proven in a court of law. Breach of Geneva conventions, contravention of UNSC resolutions and even extrajudicial killings can be quite convincingly proven. Shouting “genocide”, “genocide” in the midst of a war is not something a reasoned, neutral audience will find convincing, especially when the shooting is being done by both protagonists. It’s not as if the Israelis are shooting and killing a totally peaceful resistance. That is not to say armed resistance isn’t legitimate- it absolutely it and is in accordance with international law. However, genocide is much harder to prove during circumstances of armed conflict when both sides are attacking each other….

It looks to be very clear that journalists were deliberately targeted (even before Shireen Abu Ahkled) despite IL's denials, and the record number of journalists killed in only three months. Tone policing her to wait for the legal designation is ridiculous, when she is someone who survived and documented firsthand, including things that may have been filmed but immediately censored on social media platforms. It's almost certain some of her footage may be used in court. You give the impression of wanting to be supportive or objective, but you should recognize that the systems are just a little bit bullshit, and heavily biased already--or they would have recognized the apartheid and injustices, including your bothsiding that forgets that VIOLENT resistance is also permitted in occupation, or that the legal 'right to self defense' is not actually accorded to an occupier as it is clearly twisted and abused to justify more oppressive actions. Israel already did shoot and kill a lot of peaceful protestors INSIDE GAZA during the Great March of Return not too many years ago. There were some people committing violent acts but collective punishment for the actions of the few is the NORM here. Including Hamas' rockets into Israeli cities. The court of public opinion for anyone who has seen the sheer scale of civilian harm in photos and videos has already agreed this is genocide. Thinking "Oh, I must wait for the ICJ decision before I can assess how bad these atrocities are" is not neutrality, it's being heartless and spineless while forgetting the whole reason for the Convention is to PREVENT genocide, not just put a fucking label on it so people can have a properly semantic conversation.

It is obviously genocide. And if you are not emotive about the massacres you see as this young woman, you are not human. All journalists are human. There is just so much that one can bear before it crosses a certain threashold that you can not be unemotional anymore. The fact that the Western mainstream media are either funded and/or influenced by big corporations and politicians and influential powerful people who have personal interests and agendas in supporting Israel no matter what atrocities they commit. The military armament aids between the United States and Israel are bribes to Israel so that the United States can keep Israel as a valuable ally so that the U.S. can exert their influence in the Middle East. The United States is trading Palestinian lives for national interests and influence. Of course, they are not going to acknowledge Israel committing genocide. Because if the U.S. admitting that, it will be just as admitting they themselves are aiding and abetting Israel in genocide. An accomplice. Can you recognise and acknowledge genocide now? The reality is too raw and horrifying for some to stomach so they prefer to look the other way or be self-deluded to make light of the plight of the Palestinian people to make it easier on themselves.
