Can a hard fall on your side cause pleural effusion? I took a hard fall. The x-rays showed no broken bones, etc. but my left side was in a lot of pain. It is better now but I had x-rays that showed pleural effusion. They gave me antibiotics. I will see my primary doctor soon to discuss this.

@AubreyForever A hard fall on your side can potentially lead to pleural effusion, especially if it caused significant trauma, leading to inflammation or injury to the chest wall or lungs. This could result in fluid accumulation in the pleural space. However, pleural effusion is also associated with other conditions like infections, heart failure, or lung disease. It's good that you're following up with your primary doctor to discuss the cause and appropriate treatment.
