Can you imagine going to a gig where the support act for Periphery is none other than Plini?! When people say that music is getting worse I just have to wonder what on earth they're listening to, because I can find stuff I like from every era, whether it was composed 500 years ago or yesterday. Prog music is in safe hands with musicians like Plini writing incredible stuff like this.

Semantic Samuel exactly . People are just looking i the wrong places for music. They don’t really want new, they just want different artists playing the same shit. Kinda how the 80s were lol. I rly believe this is one of the best eras of music. People can make incredible songs in their bedroom now which is amazing ie. Plini.

so much this! It blows my mind. we live in a time where most of us can access basically ever piece of music ever created with 3 clicks or less and people want to tell me that there isn't any good music being released anymore?

Music certainly isn't what it used to be. It's powered by other mechanisms than back in the days of the classical masters. That is not to say that the artists themselves are no longer capable. They just don't have the means nor the motivation to create genuine works of art. They're entertainers before they are artists. And that is fine. But I'm confident in my belief that the quality of musical productivity, by the piece and as a whole, of certain musical periods of the past was higher than today. In simple terms, the historically educated consensus is _today's music has gotten worse._

Damn, they found an excellent drummer. He plays like a jazz drummer at a rock gig. It's so different from the rest of metal drummers, he really captures the essence of Plini, I feel. Not to mention how goddamn fast and powerful, yet relaxed and effortless his strokes and embellishments are.

I saw him live in Dublin supporting Tesseract. Gotta chance to talk with him and some of the band members. I hate celebritism and all that stuff, still... Amazing people amazing artists, so glad I had a chance to have chat with em. Together with Tesseract by far one of the best live performance i ever had pleasure to witness, beats almost every single "old" band I used to love as a kid(Deftones etc.). Hopefully Covid-19 situation at some point will be somehow fixed to the point people can enjoy this as much as I could.

@@fmspjanus Deftones are better than both both Plini and Tesseract imo. their music feels a little more alive and meaningful than either of these two bands. Plini are nice for when you want groovy, jazzy, prog vibes but honestly think Animals As Leaders are a more interesting option usually. All of these bands are still fantastic (well maybe not Tesseract..).
@fmspjanus
@fmspjanus 3 жыл бұрын
@@osmark86 I grew out of deftones and also seen them live twice which was... Disappointing. I don't want to argue cause its a a matter of taste. In terms of composition I do not see plini as a background "jazzy" music as it has barely anything to do with ambient or jazz on a theoretical and practical level.
