I love how the melody in 6:04 is emphasized throughout the whole EP trilogy. idk why but these parts (this one, the first part of the song Heart and towards the end of sweet nothings) give me a feeling of resolution and whenever I'm listening to the EPs in one go, these small bits make the EPs sound like a bunch of musical stories with interrelation.

I just discovered these guys by Rick Beato doing a teaching video on how to count non 4/4 time. So glad I discovered this amazing group. I have been following prog rock for 50 years now. I think Plini and the others some here have mentioned have formed a different genre within prog rock. I can't describe it yet in my own mind as there are so many cool nuances. Plini keep up the great work for years to come. I am a hobbyist drummer and love this fellow's playing and choosing his drum parts. Wow. Just masterful stuff. All of it.

@RyanJamesODonnell
@RyanJamesODonnell 4 жыл бұрын
@@dreams7091 he might use elements of Djent, but can you really label him as just Djent. The bass features a lot in his melodies, but he rocks a 6 string, a lot of his songs play in 4/4, and even his Sunhead album (his darkest so far) is only in drop Db tuning. His Handmade Cities album is also, imo, way to bright to be classed as Djent. His influences include Periphery, but also the likes of Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Guthrie Govan.

I literally have all his albums on iTunes just playing in one big loop. Haven't listened to anything else for the past 6 weeks. First thing I listen to in the morning and the last I listen to at night. As much as his time signatures completely fuck me up at times, it has made me really think about timing and rhythm in music. On one side it's so fucking and stunningly melodic, and the other side, the timing makes you really think and works your brain. And I just love his meaty and clean tone. Totally renewed my already undying love for the guitar. Bravo, Plini. You magnificent fellow Aussie bastard!!

@Faust yo if you think that music with vocals are songs and instrumentals are pieces, you really need to understand how music works bro. Understand structural harmony dude.

Dale Kay - Marco wrote it and played it on the recordings, Troy Wright played it on this tour. The audio you hear in this video is the original audio from the album.
