Normally, Paper Moon would have been my favorite, but... I have to give these guys a shoutout for their rendition of Selenium Forest. Just... wow, I'm at a loss for words, let me just say this much: I had a huge smile all over my face while listening to it, this is by far the best live version of a song I've ever listened to, better than the studio version imo. Needless to say, huge props to Plini, Jakub, Troy and Simon, you guys killed it!

They really are something else. I never heard of them before today. Somehow Jakub Zytecki came up in my feed. After I watched that video (JZ live in Cracow) the algorithm fed me this one. I just now realized that Jakub is the other guitarist. Curious, though- it has definite rock influence, but is not rock-n-roll, which really requires singing to be called that. I've heard it called prog, post-rock and math-rock but I'm not sure those terms do it justice or really describe it. At times they remind me of Rush (without singin'), in the cinematic and bombastic scope of their music. Bands like Yes and Rush had non-sentimental lyrics, but few bands are like that. Maybe a few songs a year (worldwide) are written that are saying something in a novel, original way. Mostly it's a rehash of Oh baby I need you so much please come back I am so sad, honky-tonk badonkadonk, how ya like me now? That's why I can't write songs anymore. I used to think I had something I wanted to express. I guess I did before, but I don't any longer. At least not that belongs in a song.
