By claiming copyright for very minor use of the material they are creating a situation where no one is going to use these songs from now on in popular media so the upcoming generation will not know they exist because they are from 50s 60s and 70s. Corporates are exploiting the system of claiming copyright and in the process they are making these songs disappear from use. There is a far reaching effect to things like these. Go do a little bit research. A GO has been passed that states no copyright can be claimed for songs being played in government functions, family gatherings and other non profit evens because these guys were starting claiming from there as well. These songs are supposed to last forever that's what the creators would have worked so hard for. These corporates were not even born when these songs were created. That matters the most.
