I made a tik tok about this. Rhaenyra going to kings landing is so bad, it might ruin the show. Firstly, you can’t sail from dragon stone to kings landing in a day and is her war council just supposed to wait? For weeks? Second, the kings heir has just been decapitated. This plan made no sense. It was stupid, not book cannon, and complete fan service and I hate it

The whole segment reminded me of Game of Thrones season 7. The unrealistic traveling, the lazy writing, and just characters having plot armor

It's the Alicent/Rhaenyra scene for me, at the end. I know they try to portray Rhaenyra as a wise queen who knows what's on the stake by going on with this war... but there is literally no reason for Rhaenyra to believe in Alicent's friendship any more. There was already none after the coronation of Aegon - but even less one after Lucerys' death. She trusts someone who clearly is NOT trustworthy anymore. What did we get from this scene? Alicent understanding that she misunderstood Visery's last words. Rhaenyra is more happy now, knowing that her father wanted her to rule. But... we actually knew this before. And it doesn't change anything because Alicent isn't even trying to do anything about this new information. Because it's already to late. So... why did we need this scene exactly? Still like the series very much, don't get me wrong. But for me, this is a weak spot.

We got that scene to show that Rhaenyra is still the Queen that wants peace despite the show showing us last season she's ready to go to war.

Alicent doesn't change her mind. It's not up to her it doesn't matter if she changed her mind or not. The war has already begun.What do expect her to do go to ageon after making him king and tell him that it was all mistake. He isn't king . He should just step down and the woman who he thinks killed his son to be queen. He would not listen to her. Or the green council who have been plotting to deny rhaenyra her throne since a Male heir was born that rhaenyra is queen

@@rjinacave7 absolutely. And I really don’t think it’s hate when it’s objectively true and I felt like it was constructive criticism, anyways. I was a bit disappointed waiting an entire week to be mostly disinterested in the episode as a whole. It was blah. I just hope they do better

the whole Prince who was promised shtick is baffling to me . are telling me that Aegon conquered Westaros cuz he dreamed of that shit , or cuz he got a living breathing nukes

It would've been better if it wasn't a dream, rather ancient text that he discovered during his reign. A dream feels like lazy writing

Aegon I never wanted to conquer Westeros untill he got that dream. This is why he gave every lord a choice: bend the knee and keep all your land and castles or fire and blood.
