@@sdprecords6599 There's still a chance that it may be Hagakure as well though. One: AFO said that he has many friends plural meaning there may be more than one traitor. Two: Aoyama's Parents said he was being watched, but by who, either one of the teachers is a traitor themselves or another student? In the USJ it was both Aoyama and Hagakure that were unaccounted for. Aoyama may not have known it was her but it's possible Hagakure was sent to watch over him, making her an unforgivable traitor and Aoyama a traitor who can be redeemed. I also think Aoyama should get a redemption arc where he finds the true traitor and defeats them.

Aoyama had the biggest secret of all, I felt that his naval laser was an anchor and he wants a quirk to control it or to get rid of it. From the irritation and the shock of the last chapter to this one, Horikoshi played all of us like a damn fiddle lol. I do feel bad for Aoyama but can we take a moment to think about how Deku feels? Just came back after leaving UA and now finds out that one of his friends is a traitor (by force mind you, but still). If they’re gonna pull the trigger on finally exploring Deku’s mental pain and trauma even for a little bit, now’s the time.

Parents like Aoyama, real or fictional, really grind my gears. By the time Aoyama was born, AFO had already killed Nana, not to mention how many other people he may have killed. You went to a damn murderer to get your son a quirk, COMPLETELY not thinking it through. Then you’re gonna use your potential murder to essentially blackmail your child into doing this despite how much distress it’s causing him. And then to add insult to injury, you don’t even think to say “hey AFO, we want our son to have a quirk, but we’d like one that’s not gonna cause his insides to explode if he really goes overboard.” I hope his parents know that whatever happens to Aoyama now is ENTIRELY their fault. Sorry for the rant, these kind of parents just reeeeally piss me off. Moral of the story: don’t drag your kid into a mess that you fucking made 🙃

Well said! The tone that they're taking with him is extremely manipulative too and I got angry hearing them plead with him to keep following orders. And I'm still waiting to see how his parents even knew about AFO and his ability to grant quirks--like did they not see the potential consequences of their actions?? They supposedly wanted their son to be happy yes, but they could have definitely done so in a way that wouldn't endanger his life or force him into secrecy and cause more harm than good, yet they're being selfish with their demands too

Imo I disagree Now I’m still just a hormonal teenager who has never had kids and I’m sure you’re the same aswell But parents will do anything to make sure they’re children has the best life. They never knew AFO was the devil incarnate because the dude is just known for his unique ability and not that he’s KingPin but with powers. And they certainly didn’t expect or asked for him to blackmail them, and if they could they would’ve never wanted Aoyama to be part of him. But it was AFO who dragged him in, not them. As for the quirk he was given, I don’t think that they have much bargaining power in terms of choosing an ability for their kid. This isn’t grocery shopping. His parents only wanted him to be happy. They never wanted to make him part of it. They regretted their decisions and I think they already got the punishment that should be dealt.

@@marcuswong1643 - Actually, I’m well into my adulthood and finally got myself into therapy stemming from abusive and manipulative parents. However I do not have children, but that is out of my immense fear of turning into my parents, despite my boyfriend and therapist believing I would be the opposite to them. Not that age or one’s parental status matter, but I thought I would correct the assumption that I was a teenager. Similar to how Aoyama’s parents are currently putting their livelihoods on Aoyama’s shoulders, my parents put their lives on my shoulders and would blame me for anything bad that happened to them and would be punished accordingly. The only difference was my parents were not held at gunpoint by a villain. While good, descent parents only want to ensure their child(ren)’s happiness, most that I know in my personal life would rather die that put their child in the position Aoyama is in now.

I don't think invisible girl is off the hook. Because, if she was the traitor, her ratting out aoyama could be an interesting move for a villain. It's possible that AFO could not trust either of them (aoyama because he's emotionally vulnerable, and hagakure for reasons best explained if she's revealed to be another traitor), so he uses them both to verify the information of the other. It would be more interesting if Aoyama was the reluctant spy, whereas Hagakure is a willing spy and neither of them know that they answer to the same person. Now after over-hearing Aoyama's conversation with his parents she decides to rat him out to save her own ass from all future suspicions, making AFO trust her that much more and allow her to have greater impact on future events.

Honestly i can't agree with your theory. Looking at Chapter 335, the ending makes it seems like she is the traitor but it's a transition panel for Chapter 336. Also keep in mind she was suspicious about how Aoyama was acting. The fact that invisible girl thought to herself and followed him is more than enough of a reason that she isn't the traitor. Keep in mind it doesn't make since that she would be the traitor with nothing adding up there. She has no motive and no background built in that light

I doubt it, their roles are parallel but I can't see them being reversed. It's like Todoroki and Shigaraki. Both had horrible fathers who did horrible things to them but one became a hero and the other a villain. Despite not having a quirk, Deku still rushed in to help Bakugo, someone in need. So, if Deku found himself in this situation I'd believe he'd never go through with endangering others.

Aoyama's the traitor... I don't know how to feel about this. The poor guy. Edit: I just realized- during the attack on the training camp, when Aoyama shot Tokoyami out of Compress' grasp, he was terrified. Originally, I just thought that it was because he was up against powerful villains and he decided he wasn't going to be a coward anymore. Now, however, I see that him being terrified was a result of feeling that the villain was going to report his act of "treachery" to All For One and thinking the evil mastermind was gonna kill him over it- or worse, his parents. This leads me to a new thought: was he actually considering betraying All For One and saving Bakugou in that moment, even if only for a brief second? Also, it gives a whole new perspective with regards to him hiding and becoming an open target during the Provisional Licence Exam- he was probably trying to fail on purpose due to how much guilt he felt from contributing to Bakugou's kidnapping. Poor guy must've felt he wasn't worthy to be a hero.

Aoyama is basically deku gone wrong. This Is what would have happen had all might not given him his quirk, this is what deku would have been, in afo grasp unable to get out. Aoyama story is dekus villain story, its the same path deku was suppose to walk to, but all that changed when all might chose him. The impact of all might choosing deku is even more severely fleshed out.The Parallels between both of them is incredible that i would not like anything else, screw the theory that aoyama and hagakure are both traitors since it would ruin all the parallels that had been built up.

I admit, I was fully convinced that invisible girl truly was the traitor. But, this actually feels even more appropriate to me. It's the type of situation that makes sense to me, he got a quirk from AFO and is being forced to do what he says to protect the people he loves. Say what you will about Aoyama's choice, but can anyone really say they'd do things differently if your own parents lives were at risk? Edit: I also just considered something else. A lot of people I've watched suggest that there's a second traitor or that Hagakure really is a traitor and, unlike Aoyama, is serving AFO willingly which is why AFO says 'friends' plural. I think this is wrong, I think it's possible that Aoyama's parents are actually loyal to AFO and are manipulating their son to serve him by just pretending to be afraid, which makes sense to me because how else would they have known about AFO, his quirk, and how to contact him if they weren't villains themselves? It would be an extremely dark twist but I can definitely see AFO doing something so messed up.

That was an interesting twist given how the last chapter ended. How this particular character was able to consistently give information to the villains seem weirdly contrived. UA is supposed to have great security yet somehow he found the one place where there were no recording or listening devices. Until last chapter I was expecting the traitor to be someone working at UA not a student.

And I agree that if there were two traitors, they didn't know about each other, both to prevent suspicion and also to keep them feeling emotionally isolated. If they think they're in this alone, they can't band together and go to the teachers for help, now can they? As for why she led Deku to Aoyama, I'm of two minds. Either A.) She found out about Aoyama on her own at some point, and decided to use him as a sacrifice to keep attention off of her, or B.) She wants out just like him, and is using Deku and 1-A's reaction to his reveal to feel out whether it's safe to reveal herself.

Hagakure revealed that she could alter light effects. Aoyama didn't want to pass the exams to be left adrift from AFO's plans. The reveal of Aoyama as the traitor definitely puts things into a new perspective, all the things he's said throughout the entire series seemed more innocent and wholesome at the time, but now have much more weight behind them. The one that stood out to me the most was during the Provisional Hero License Exam 1st stage. In a flashback, he asks his parents why he's different from everyone else. Many would think it's has something to do with his quirk and its negative side effect, further 'cemented' when he reveals his body is incompatible with it. But in reality, he asked that because he's born quirkless in a quirk-filled society.

OK! Now THIS suspect makes way more sense. And I can’t deny Aoyama is a part of this. Hagakure made no sense to me and was easily the weakest choice of the suspects I know/take seriously. Aoyama has set up, he has clues, he has a motive, past tells were called back for when he’s truly bothered, and the last panel from the last chapter referenced when Aoyama stalked Midoriya. THIS makes sense. But I feel like we are not done with this. They avoided some things with Aoyama that put things in perspective. How in the flying fuck did his parents come across the legendary AFO? How did Aoyama contact him? Does he just HAVE him on his phone?! And the underlying problem I had with Hagakure remains. Now that the traitor is caught, now what? He’s out in the open admitting everything VERY easily. (Also a hilarious image to think of AFO with Navel Laser.) Aoyama in very high likelihood has a middle man contact. And that is either a direct subordinate of AFO we’ve met from the villains already, or there’s someone who helped him dodge the school’s eye. And I would like to remind you this, the students were cleared by the school. One of the few traitor details leading up to this was that the kids were investigated. And came out with nothing. That’s VERY surprising since how easily Aoyama cracked under pressure. And it’s happened before considering how he looked during and before the Kamino fight. (Why would he hide his tells from us when he’s literally at home with his mom who is also stuck in this?) Aoyama’s reveal knocks out ALL other student suspects officially. But with a likely middle man, the teachers are not cleared entirely yet. Present Mic is not clear. Principal Nezu AS THE INVESTIGATOR WHO FAILED TO SEE AOYAMA is still not clear. Vlad King although less likely than those two is still not clear. The simple fact that this was so easy tells me that Aoyama won’t be the enemy we sought. But he is guilty. (I do fear he will explode now though, which would be TRAGIC.) The middle man is the dangerous one to everyone else. And there must be one since AFO isn’t someone you just come across on the street. He’s ALWAYS in hiding. So there must be someone or even MANY people that can signal him to come out and reign in more to his “side.” Also have to call out what Todoroki said while training, is practically verbatim my prediction for his quirk. DNA is not constrained to one half of your body so his fire and ice sides are interchangeable but likely can’t be used from one limb at the same time since that temperature rapid changing would likely be INCREDIBLY painful.

@@RTONL I will call the one Aoyama likely speaks through is the middle man. AFO likely doesn’t send emails from his cave throne or send letters. So someone must be relaying the orders to the family. It’s like a big web with AFO at the middle. Exactly how he describes he constructs his plans. The close you get to the middle, the fewer people are in that ring. There must be HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of people in Aoyama’s position. The most important person to look at is Kurogiri for these events at the training camp and USJ. The middleman has to be someone smart enough to translate a location to exact coordinates to warp to. And that is why Present Mic and Nezu are the most suspect here. Present Mic from his closeness to Kurogiri could serve as his blackmail. Principal Nezu on the other hand has next level intelligence. It’s yet to be explored just how good he is except that ONE test. I will not look past Nezu’s error of overlooking a student suspect now that we are here. Someone pointed out to me the one and only genuine contradiction of Nezu that only exists now. If Nezu were the traitor, what’s the point of Aoyama? And my guess is Aoyama was more of a confirmation they went to a location and Nezu is the original leak. Would feed into AFO’s system he described to Dabi last chapter.
