Neat system, definitely very thought out. I think they give you pages in booklets so they stay in one place and easy to transport. Page lifter with elongated holes goes in the back to prevent back pages from sliding under the rings. Congratulations on your article acceptance, I known it will be a great one! 🎉🎉🎉 ❤

The crazy thing is they only give us 3 weeks between having your article accepted and needing to submit the full draft...which means I won't have time to conduct a full IRB study like I originally anticipated (interviewing participants), so I will have to use a different angle to write it :X But that's ok. I was really second guessing myself with ripping the individual pages out, for some reason it felt wrong! Thanks for watching.

I have a mini 6 that I use as my work planner. It has the monthly and weekly inserts. Plotter is a great customizable system that's very compact. Regarding the lifters, they're meant to be used at the front and back just to help keep the pages from hanging up or getting wrinkled. The pen holder and elastic band inserts also act as lifters. So since you have those you don't really need the additional lifters. Two accessories I also really like are the Midori metal index clips and a Filofax ruler / bookmark. They're easy to move around and I use them for marking my current pages. I look forward to seeing how this works out for you.
@stationery.shenanigans6 ай бұрын
Do you use the Plotter brand monthly and weekly inserts? I'm excited to try and get them for 2025 when they come out! Thank you for explaining the lifters, I just put the two basic ones at the front and back of the binder. I will be on the look out for the Midori metal index clips, I think I may have a Filofax ruler/bookmark from my Original! I will be posting updates about my Plotter for sure because it seems to be a popular thing for everyone here! Thanks for watching and supporting.

@@stationery.shenanigans I use the folifax planner inserts. I just prefer their layout. Its a little more basic and I like the weekly spread across 2 pages, which I don't think plotter makes. I use plotter's grid and blank paper though. And I love plotter's project manager inserts. I use those in another brand's bible size binder. Hope to get a bible size plotter at some point too.

Very interesting indeed. I want to be a rings person, but usually always go back to a notebook. I just discovered field notes and am in love with them. This looks like a good replacement for Filofax. Interesting inserts.
@stationery.shenanigans6 ай бұрын
I tried the Raymay Davinci because it had never occured to me that the size of the things (in my Filofax) is what bothered me, and switching to smaller rings definitely gives it the *feel* of a notebook. I am quite paranoid about accidentally ripping pages out of a binder, which is why I typically lean towards notebooks. I'm telling myself to not think about it this time with the Plotter. Funny enough - I haven't tried FieldNotes yet!!! It's on my list. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I'm hoping eventually they branch out to the European market, now that they are more common in the states. I really enjoy how the binder lays completely flat, and I didn't realize that this is unique and required a different design and engineering approach, hence the outer metal bar. I have it sitting out on my desk and it just looks so elegant!! I can't wait to see how the leather changes over time.

Unfortunately there isn't a store in Knoxville that sells Plotters (or Traveler's Company that I know of!) - I had bought this when I was visiting my family in Philly. Plotter seems to be expanding into brick-and-mortar retail stores, so it'll be interesting to see which other stores start to carry them. I know Gentleman Stationer is opening a store in Franklin, TN. I occasionally travel down to Duluth, GA (3 hours from here) to go to Kinokuniya Atlanta. The next nearest place might be Good Postage in Charlotte. It's great to hear there are other people in Tennessee! I would love to do a traveler's notebook meetup someday.

I honestly didn't realize there weren't a lot of Plotter videos until I was thinking about getting one. even when I brought my Plotter home, I wanted to watch some setup videos to make sure I was doing it right...and there weren't many?? I thought that was odd! I wonder if there aren't a lot of update videos because it's more of a simple notetaking/project management system? I plan on definitely posting updates because this video has been very popular already on my channel. Which just goes to show you that there must be a craving for Plotter in the KZbin stationery world! I think the main different between Filofax is the ring sizes and the finishing of the leather cover. WTH, why is this so expensive?

This feels like consumerism at it's finest. They're essentially taking a collectible card game business model (think Magic the Gathering... you keep spending more and more because you need all the newest cards and decks). You then realize you've spent $500 this year on all the expansions. It's similar to a monthly subscription model where they lock you in by getting consistent revenue from their subscribers on a monthly basis (Netflix, Spotify, Hulu etc.) From a business perspective, I respect them, from a human perspective, they're at least a little scummy. Ha. If you like it and it fits your budget, then you do you though. It's just interesting to see clever business strategies.
@stationery.shenanigans6 ай бұрын
I do hate how everything is a subscription now, it drives me nuts! There are even printers that when you buy and take them home, you have to pay a monthly fee or it won't print!? That is crazy to me. I get what you're saying, but I find it kind of the opposite, at least for the purposes I'm using this for. I think of consumerism as buying cheap, uncrafted things, OFTEN, and throwing them away for the next thing. But here, you are buying one quality, crafted item up front (the front), and some accessories, and then just buying paper refills for life. The paper refills range from $6-12 which are a fair price to me. I don't expect to use many more accessories, and I do expect everything to last for a long time since it is higher quality. Some people especially on KZbin, make videos to get people to buy things, and I don't think they actually like the products! I am honest about my opinions for sure lol. [Also, I always felt dumb when trying to learn how to play Magic, at the time I stuck with Pokemon because it was more simple!] Thanks for watching and commenting!
