Great video. Love hearing that 8530 grunt. The icing on the cake was the 4960.

I’ve been wanting to make “peanut season” cologne for years. Smells like fresh flipped peanuts (dirt).

Hey are you running water in them front tires or the duals. Our 360s have to have 3/4 full all four across the front and still in unlevel or hard dirt our bedders or strip till will still drag it around some
@PatrickShivers Жыл бұрын
No water in the tires. The rear inner wheels are toting a full set of weights and are a thicker gauge (heavier) wheel than what is common in the south. When strip tilling or bedding with JD 8335R or Versatile 310 we do add water to front and rear.

I had good luck with orange bulldog here in south alabama. Also planted a blue/gray variety called blue bayou that did really well. Will be looking forward to seeing how the pumpkins work for you.

Did you direct seed or transplant? What spacing? Where about in LA? I grew Dill’s Atlantic Giant with some success last year. I also had a buckskin variety that did great. 2 more varieties that did nothing. I will be posting a short soon detailing our Giant Pumpkin Competition. Please consider entering it.

@@PatrickShivers direct seed. 2' in row, 10' between rows. Used drip tape. SW Alabama Clarke county. I planted a tan variety called long island cheese that did well also. Just like a flat butternut basically, tasted good too. I can send you some seed from a couple strange varieties that do good if you want.

Growing food isn't that complicated. I mean, you can take a tomato, dig a hole, drop it in and leave it alone. They know what to do, and they do it. We over complicate the Lords way of sowing and reaping. I about cracked up when you had the measuring tape. My pappy used to plow, and toss out the seeds by hand. The stuff always grew. We always had food.

You’d be surprised how many people can watch a tillage video on their phone and know “exactly” how deep you are running and tell you how deep you should have been running
@jongoodspeed549511 ай бұрын
I think the larger the plow (number of bottoms) the illusion is to be plowing shallower. Not so as you have proven.
@PatrickShivers11 ай бұрын
On an earlier plow video a viewer accused me of running shallow and doubted the depth I said I was running.

Patrick, don't you listen to those knuckleheaded comments on here. They are just trying to piss you off. Probably never farmed in their life.
@PatrickShivers Жыл бұрын
It doesn’t bother me at all. I often chuckle when viewers think they can accurately judge tillage depth by watching a video on their phone. I like showing the measurements and providing as much information as possible.

No one else grows produce around here either. I just do things a little different. Daddy retired off of cotton. Grandpa did it off of peanuts.
