Jon, your neighbor looked so miserable with his snow blower, it sounded like a parody commercial: "tired of your old snow blower? Get yourself a nice Kubota (and a Curtis cab)"... LMAO with the forecast 1-78 inches of snow, possibly expected, maybe! Great video! I liked it! Thanks!

Hi Joe, 1-78 inches is about as close as the weather guys can predict. I get so frustrated with them. We got a total of about 5-6 from a storm that was suppose to bring 10 or more. Not very impressed. My neighbor is the type of guy that would rather take care of his own property as long as he is healthy and able. However is does look kind of funny in comparison. He is a great guy and if we weren’t home he would have cleared my driveway as well. I stayed very comfortable in my Curtis Cab! Happy new year and God bless.

Hello from south Mississippi. Glad to see someone had snow. We rarely get any this far south. Poor guy in the background struggling with the walk behind snowblower, needs a KUBOTA. LOL

He’s one of those guys that take pride in his work and would rather do it himself. I’ve cleared his driveway multiple times in the past but he’s usually outside before me and beats me to it. Happy new year and God bless.

I’m not satisfied either. It’s still snowing but I’ll be surprised when it’s all said and done if we have 8 inches. We’re suppose to get 10 or more. The kids love being in videos so I try to get them in when I can. Happy new year and God bless!

Thanks for the video Jon. In the MKE area, we haven’t received any noticeable amount of snow yet this Decmenber.. I purchased a BX2680 this spring, I now have the blower, back blade, and cab installed and ready to go with no reason to use it! on Christmas Day, we had just enough of a dusting to warrant use of the back blade to scrape the drive. Here’s to wishing all of us a snowy New Year!!!

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year. Finally got some of the white stuff up here too and -31 Degrees Celsius lol. Blew the snow before that showed up though. Would have been nice to see how the heater would perform. Glad I got both the hydraulic chute rotation and deflector. Being able to control where the snow goes with a simple switch is great. Especially on a Windy day. No more self inflicted mini blizzards. Santa was good to me too. Interior light and mirror showed up and are installed. Roof has to be removed to access the upper dash but a easy thing to do. Bad thing was found one of the gas springs that lift the roof was pooched. Dealer is stopping by tomorrow to change that out for me so no big deal. Just waiting on that ROPS mounted strobe beacon light from Curtis to show up and rear blade from the dealer. Installation of the LEDs for the signal/ flashers and tail lights will get done tomorrow. Then I'll stop for a bit. The wife is giving me that look lol.

Haha Brian, the wife giving you that look. That’s not good! I hope you can get all the mods done you want without her knowing too much. Is that interior light you got also from Curtis or is it different. I’ve been trying to think of some ways to sound dampen the interior a little. As you probably know it’s a little louder with a cab. I hope to come up with something and that will be an upcoming mod. I’ve also got a bunch of lighting mods to complete before next winter. Good luck with the wife! 😂 Enjoy the new year. @@ritterjon The Curtis interior light is P/N 9LEDD and the mirror is P/N 9PM3. This stuff is on their accessories page. Their ROPS mount beacon has been discontinued. Oh darn. But I've seen some other strobe lights I can use without having to make Swiss cheese out of the ROPS bar. As for sound proofing. Check out www.tractorinteriors.com They have everything you need to do your cab and good tutorial videos on how to do it. So if you can dress a deer or fillet a walleye without leaving a bunch meat behind you can go at it. Right now a pair of 3M Bluetooth ear muffs are going to have to do. Let's keep dreaming.

I misplaced my GoPro pivoting arm and case that secures it to all handles or grips. Since the move I’m finding treasures in boxes here and there. Still waiting for my first snow as a tractor owner, looks like fun. I know my back is going to enjoy it much more! I only have my loader and plan to add some edge tamers because my driveway is gravel. Anyway, I've wondered a few times what you cover your tractor with and it it scratches it a bit when dragged on and off. I know they are tools, but part of the fun is having nice tools:-)

Edge tamers will be a good idea for you on your gravel driveway. I store my tractor under my deck but I cover it to keep in dry with a plain old plastic tarp. I haven’t noticed any scratches and I’m very particular like you. If you take care of your tools they’ll take care of you. Happy new year and God bless.

45F! Man I'd be suntanning on my back patio with a nice cold beer right now. It's - 20F here right now with close to -30F overnight. My cab heater is just making it. So shorts and a tee shirt aren't going to cut it. Speaking of heater it just sprang a leak. Core or something else let go in it. Dealer called me back and the whole unit has been ordered and to be replaced. Jon this Polar Vortex is heading your way if it isn't there already. So a heads up I also found a little puddle of hydraulic fluid under the tractor. The hydraulic filter wasn't tightened to -30 specs at the factory lol. The rubber seal shrank from the cold and started to leak. I snugged it up and it looks good now. Checked the engine filter to be on the safe side too. I've seen them leak at this beautiful time of year also. So have a little peek at yours. Happy tractoring.

Glad y'all had a good Christmas and glad to see you finally got a good snow. How does this tractor handle compared to the old one and does the cab give you any limitations in vision? Also how soon can we expect mods to start?

Hi Tim! This tractor handles a little better in snow because the weight of the cab is just enough to give the right amount of traction. With my old Bx25 I used chains and with the BX23S I’ve been able to go without and not notice much difference. The vision limitations are like a new vehicle. It takes awhile to get used to but once you learn where to look I don’t find it limiting much. The mods will likely start in June, a lot of lights and a couple new attachments. Lol Jon! They get John Deere if they don’t go to bed on time? That’s cruel! Just kidding. That’s very funny though. I’ve been feeling terrible and haven’t been able to hear for about a week now, but this morning I still went out and plowed snow, and I had a lot of fun. Then, I slept for another 4 hours. We had about three inches but it was raining before the sun was up so it was watered down to a super heavy 1” slush layer. Supposed to get more snow later tonight so I decided I’d scrape it off so it wouldn’t ice over on the concrete. I was pretty underwhelmed to be honest with you. They were out saying we’d be getting 10, 12, even 14 inches and I got a measly one inch, lol! I was at least expecting to get to plow maybe six. Oh well. Now our dirt roads are completely destroyed again, haha.. I did take a video and it was actually kind of a good one. It was still raining when I went out so the tractor was steaming and I was freezing. You’ll see that soon I hope. Looks like your kids had a great Christmas! They’re such a cheerful bunch. Hope Santa brought you everything you wanted to. If we don’t see any more of you before Jan 1, have a Happy New Year, and we’ll talk to you in 2019!

Yep, Brielle came up with that all by herself, I had to capture it on video. What a nut! I’m loving the cab, it is so nice to clear snow and not need a break to go in and warm up. Hey there John. I live on a private dirt road. Back in 2007 when I bought the tractor and blower I plowed the whole road and some driveways. The front blower couldn't handle the snow at all. It would plug up very easily. But the biggest issue was shear bolts. Now you may be thinking dirt road and rocks being picked up; but I'll tell you, even if the snow was hard packed the shear bolts would break. I tried a heavier shear bolt and the drive chain broke. The main auger shear bolts would break. I finally wrote a letter to Massey Ferguson and they sent a technical rep down to see me and their final recommendation was that I was using the blower in a manner that it was not suited. I didn't like their assessment of the blower or how I was using it but I guess I understood why they said it. I went back to my dealer, who by the way was very supportive of me though this while deal, and he took the front blower back and replaced it with a back blower for no charge. I was happy, the dealer was happy and I guess Massey Ferguson was too although they never really told me that. I think maybe the manufacturers have improved the beefyness of the blowers now. The one I had was flimsy and not well made. Anyway, enough about that. Glad yours is working well and I see plenty of them on You Tube now and they all seem to work well so that's good. Someone suggested I use "PAM". To help keep the chute from clogging. I have yet to try it though. We had some sleet then it turned into rain. very slushy stuff. Not really enough to even make a video of.

I have a ridiculous amount of LED lights for the tractor that will have to wait for warmer weather to install. I’m really regretting not insulating my garage this past summer. I need a heated shop! Also, yes I do plow my neighbors out for free, however they are always so kind and usually give me gift cards or money at the end of the season. Hoping for more snow! Happy new year and God bless.

My neighbor is a great guy and the kind of guy that enjoys clearing his driveway by himself. He understands I’d help him him out but as long as he is able he enjoys the work. The lot I was clearing that looked like a football field is a townhome association across the street from me that I take care of. It was my justification to buy a tractor.
