Ole' girl still turning that fresh sod, pulling that 4 bottom, like she's standing still. Great video!

Beautiful !!! Coulters and mouldboards set properly and ploughing a full load. 730 sounding like it's actually working, it don't get any better.

That looks like fairly heavy soil. We had a 730 D which put out 77 horse. On our heavy soil, we pulled three bottoms and on the lite soil four bottoms.

720/730s pulled a 5-14 trailer plow in the Mo. river bottoms, 4-14 about everywhere else including gumbo but about this slow. Ya made better time with 3-16 mounted in gumbo, but a 145 semi mount gave you enough weight transfer to practically leave the 3-16 where you found it. If you had one keep it, if you didn't don't buy one. 68 is all I ever heard of one pulling with the rack wide open.

How did you get 77 HP from it

Are you pulling 12 inch or 14 inch bottom plows?
@herbhouston53788 жыл бұрын
I think just a tad faster and it would roll that sod better.
@dougstohlmann77268 жыл бұрын
+Herb Houston I would agree, however 4 bottoms in that heavy clay is all the ol' 730 wants!
@MegaPathogen7 жыл бұрын
Heavy clay? compared to what we got here in the hills of northwest Illinois that looks like black gold! I would have kicked her up a gear and made that Poppin Johnny earn his reputation.
@kenhampshire49965 жыл бұрын
Couldn't pull a 4 bottom any faster. We used 3-16's on our 730 and it did a wonderful job.

Wish you would have put a wind sock over the mike. that noise ruins the classic jonny poper sound. love old tractors..2016.

El arado está mal regulado. La tierra queda despareja y el tractor trabaja recargado.

+joe carr "One" cylinder??? Sounds like a normal John Deere two-cylinder to me. I grew up on those two-cylinder John Deere tractors, but maybe I'm missing what you're actually commenting about?

Nice rig, tractor wheels are set a little too wide.

you need some rear wheel weights on the old girl, you wouledn't BELIEVE how much more grip you get!!
@herbhouston53787 жыл бұрын
A little faster and it would roll over better.

I agree, he should have gone up a gear and made that Popping Johnny earn his reputation! I think he was afraid to make that pretty boy work for his keep.

MegaPathogen it would earn it's reputation and fail

A D17 would not pull that same plow any better in that same field. He ain't pulling it hard, there is no black smoke.
