Will get my innova 2011 and give a new life with the electric conversion in the future. Have many memories with that car and don’t want to let it go for expensive service and maintenance. Awesome! If they can get *150kms range for Dzire & SUV that will be the sweet spot.* The biggest beneficiaries will be Uber & Ola and other such taxies who are running at very low profit margins. *5lakhs is peanuts for Ola/Uber owners if they are confident of saving on petrol cost.* For Eg; these people spend about Rs 60,000 per month just on Petrol. They also have to change engine oil almost every month due to running 300kms per day. *Thus Ola/UBER running cost is around Rs 700,000 per year.* Most of them don't know this as they do not keep proper records. *e-Trio can get SUPERB business from Uber & Ola owners* if this numbers are shown to them.

I hope that an Indian company manufactures all the ev parts. As of now these start up, import mostly from China ,almost all the ev parts , i.e the lithium cell, controller, motor etc and just assemble here. According to me ,that is not cool.India needs to be self reliant on this sector otherwise as with oil, we shall be arm twist by these countries.

India is not a major producer of lithium so Indian Government has took an initiative to came up with an idea to produce aluminium ion batteries with the help from IOC so in future we might expect the cost effective batteries.

Doing experiment in the Lab is one thing but commercializing and manufacturing for mass consumption is a total different game. So there we are , a big ?????????????????.

Go ahead! Buy a 40 kW motor and 40 kWh battery pack, connect motor with the gearbox for enhanced speed and install solar panels (the car has good roof space) to operate the 12 V auxiliary circuit. Yes cost will be more initially, but first, try to get a fitness certificate. I think for so old a car getting the certificate is a bit of problem.
