Sir, just a little doubt about EV performance in water clogged areas, as the motor is in the wheel. Is the unit sealed air tight or will it go kaput if submerged in water as it's a common scene all over India.
@Amuzic_Earth3 жыл бұрын
yupp.. It's a no brainer. People are just unaware of the vast cost advantages. I have already saved over 30000 rupees from my okinawa ridge+ in 2 years with 16000+ km in odo without even calculating the maintenance cost. Other than puncture repairs(and putting Gels inside the tires) I haven't spent a single buck on maintenance so far and I haven't noticed any visible battery degradation so far. I can still ride it for 85 KMs with 1 bar left on the guessometer. And I ride it in sports mode mostly, but what I do is I keep decreasing speed as the guessometer keeps falling, so with 5 bars- I ride at 50 kmph, with 4 & 3 bars- I ride at 40 kmph, with 2 bars - I ride at 30 kmph. And my riding style was always economical as I am used to apply very less braking and not accelerating hard even before I started riding electric, with electric I also keep releasing the accelerator time to time...as constant power draw from battery drains the battery faster. So, every 10-20 seconds I will release the accelerator for 2-3 seconds..This is the secret of me getting longer range than most people even at higher speeds. Also, I am not gravitationally blessed(heard this phrase the other day when a biker was describing himself being overweight) so that helps too.

@@fwefhwe4232 lithium ion battery from trontek is the stock battery for ridge+ model when i bought it. The scooter was actually 71000+, but on road it cost me about 84000(including an extra frame, 5 years insurance and registration charges). I am from WB so lifetime tax cost is exorbitant 6250 INR(stacked in the same bracket as 250cc+ motorcycle), it was before GST became 5% down from 12%, and it was before central regrdistration cost was withdrawn(which is negligible). It would cost you probably 80000 rupees in WB and much less in other states where there are EV waivers.

Atulji a very good explanation about savings and other aspect but have a few issues to point out: 1. Neo is a very small size vehicle, probably smaller then scooty pep. Even 7G space is inadequate for tow peoples. 2. Pricing of scooty pep is lesser then Neo so users will end up paying more for this scooter. 3. 80-90% parts are imported in the case of Pure EV. So we stop import of petrol and then import from China. 4. Quality is not up to the mark. Lot of niggles in the scooters. 5. Service support and dealer availability is very thin for electric scooters and thus service or breakdown is an issue. Any road side guy can repair Activa but that’s not the case with Pure. In Pune 3-4 dealers have closed of Pure and 1 in Navi Mumbai. I think you should compare two full sized vehicles like Magnus Pro or Optima with Access.

Salute This man, he gives information about everything in ev scooter
All the brands which provide high speed scooters under ₹1Lac; I've talked to all their dealers close to my location(if decided to buy and then have atleast maintenance issues solved by that dealership), but they all say they only have the low speed models, all of them. I asked them why, they said people don't like paying for registration and insurance and such and require much more investment from customers and dealers alike, which they both are not willing to endure. That, I think is a big problem if a customer decides to buy a good high speed scooter they need to spend as much as the good 125cc ICE scooters which, build wise, are much more sturdy and durable than the EVs; that's another problem. Second is, of course, the lack of after sale support, repair and maintenance, lack of availability of spare parts in the market even in metro cities let alone in Tier 2 and 3 cities. I'm thinking of buying a good 80k scooter, but either the dealership is far away, making it impossible for maintenance, or they outright don't sell the high speed models or, the worst, THERE IS NO DEALERSHIP OF THAT PARTICULAR COMPANY IN THE WHOLE STATE. And the last concern I have is, what happens when there is an accident. The obvious lack of spare parts and restrictions of unauthorised repair and rather the lack of unauthorised repair is a big hindrance in my decision to buy an EV scooter. Pheeeeww, that was the most I've typed at once in a long time. Anyway, Atul ji ... I love your reviews and I've fallen in love with your channel since I discovered it a month ago. I immediately watch your videos as soon as they drop and keep going. I love how you've managed to build a best Indian EV community that too without any false and manipulating advertisements and it's deservedly growing. The website is regularly updated and I love love love that section of your website where we can see every EV that's available in the market, their individual review and listing of on road price. Love everything. Keep going. Full support. ❤️❤️❤️

@@sinofraj1744 Thanks for the wonderful post. You raise valid points. Regarding spare parts, you have to get your electric scoot serviced at your dealer. Road side mechanics wont have the parts. So establishing a relationship with your dealer is key here. Once you have a good rapport with your dealer, parts are not a problem. will We spoke to PURE EV senior management and they said, 80% of dealers prefer to stock high speed models like 7G, NEO compared to the low speed options. As people are viewing low speed scoots as a long term liability as no registration, no formal insurance as a vehicle (it's done as Electrionic goods) and resale value might not be there. Which city/town are you in? Even if the dealer is 20-25 km away, and if your dealer offers mobile service (and many do), you can get by. Thanks for the thoughtful comment.

there is onboard BMS for cell balancing.. this chap has little knowledge about automobiles, and only has wet dreams of EV. Infact the TCO of ICE scooters are even more higher as the engine needs overhauling after every 15k kms, battery prices aren't going to get cheaper, as inflation is going to levelize to the same rates as we pay today. Electronics used in most of the 2W EV have Chinese chips and so our people have very little control over them, until they are fabricated in India. I remember when I started with electronics in 1992, SP road in Bangalore used to have half of all the shops stocked with components, now everyone sells Chinese electronic items like cctv, pc parts, and other low quality junk. I also used to be a mechanic of our own bikes and cars since mid-1980's and I know how advanced the ICE technology is (in terms of material quality). Today's EVs sold are just hyper rated junk, except one or two.

I usually don't find factual errors in plugin India video, but there's one in this, so let me just point it out as a well wisher. India does import electricity from Bhutan, it's mostly because it's a cheap green(hydro) electricity and it's one of the primary income of the country. But, our electricity production is increasing at rapid rate(most of which is solar), but consumption haven't increased that much so far, because as people started using more and more appliances, we also shifted from incandescent to LED much faster than most countries in the world and now people are shifting from normal fans to BLDC Fans. Also, our appliances in general consume much less power compared to developed countries. The reason why India had to export some electricity to Nepal is because our grids are yet to be fully integrated nationwide, so where there are scarcity in some areas(North east especially), there are excess somewhere else. But, good news is, it's being integrated using HVDC lines which can go from one end of the country to another end with minimal transmission loss(4-5% compared to 25% in case of normal AC transmission). EV transition will increase our consumption manifold which will bring further balance between production-consumption-grid balancing as renewables energy generation will go manifold too.
@fwefhwe42323 жыл бұрын
Yes hvdc will be a blessing. but electricity used by electric 2 wheelers is vastly overestimated. most of these scooters are 250w, which is almost the same as your fridge. a mixer grinder is 750w and a ceiling fan is 75w.
@Amuzic_Earth3 жыл бұрын
@@fwefhwe4232 The correct measure is energy used and not power. Whose units is watt-hour, so a grinder running for 10 minutes will consume 750*10/60=125 watt-hour whereas a 250 watt scooter with 1.5 KWH battery will consume about 1.6 KWH(1600 watt-hour) energy. And even if you consider peak power draw, the power draw of a scooter depends on its charger and not its motor capacity(250w), For example my scooter has 800 watt motor. But, it delivers at roughly 67.2v*10Amp= 672 watt power, if you consider conversion loss from AC to DC, it's about 750watt power. 250 watt scooters with 1.5 kwh lithium battery chargers roughly charges in 3 hours. so, its chargers probably draw 500 watt of peak power. Eitherway in future slow scooters will not be the majority, but scooters with bigger capacity, higher speed and higher charging rate will be majority. So, both energy draw and peak power will be higher and the vehicles themselves will be used as grid balancer by using softwares.

I will tell you my experience and experiments with a couple of weeks of riding my friend's Okinawa Praise+. It has 1kW motor, 3kWh battery and has a range of around 80+. I used to ride in sport mode all the time and still got 80+, but the key is that I used to use my throttle very gently during most of the times, and the scooter had almost no regeneration so there was no braking effect and I used to enjoy the free coasting. If ridden very conservatively I think we can achieve close to 100km with a single charge, but it will be tiresome as the speed will be less and more ride time. Moreover the suspension in single riding is like a bullockcart (hard shock absorber for single riding). My advice is to get a scooter that can ride more than 1.5 times your daily travel and it will be enough. Also remember, today's electric scooters are still in like infants. The industry has to grow up and only the ones with strong R&D will survive and other will perish. Hero electric had shit quality scooters initially, but they have improved now. Ather has set a new bar for E-scooters. Greaves has brought ampere and it has improved substantially, not sure about pure-EV, but it seems good. Okinawa is mostly a trading firm than a technology startup.
