I have a feeling it is less an Apple silicon chip compatibility issue and more a hardware limitation when using fusion. All the MVFX plugins I have for fcp run perfectly smooth.

Thanks for the insight Tyler. I decided to get MotionVFX after watching this and I can see the potential but honestly its been running incredibly slow and choppy with the tracking. I'm on the Apple Macbook M1 Max too. Any advice?

Ya it’s slow with tracking. What I do is create a copy of the clip to a new track that you want to track. Add the tracking and once tracked, add a solid black bg layer in fusion then render in place. It’ll then be the text and black bg, then just select screen as composite mode. That’s all I’ve been able to figure out so far haha

I love Motion VFX, They are amazing... Always try and wait for them to have a sale though..

Crazy that FCPX still has no tracking ability built in as a "professional" solution. Ditched the program after going M1 and waiting months for all the plugins to catch up with compatibility updates. Let's face it, without plugins, FCPX is a suboptimal solution as a software.

FCP actually does have a tracker now built in but I haven’t used it. Honestly, I almost never use FCP unless I need a specific motion VFX effect that I can’t do in resolve haha

Their new built in tracker is awesome! But that’s true, once I went M1 my motionVFX have trouble rendering when i export. Usually takes 2 to 3 tries to get a successful export. Has been a real pain point when I have multiple versions a project

@@TheOliveBungalow ya MVFX has been working hard to make their plugins Apple silicon compatible and they’ve updated a ton of their plugins to support Apple silicon already. Have you updated yours?

Really Good Review on MotionVFX, Thanks. re: BMDR Fusion is from the 1980's, its amazing its still around. BM's FairLight is from the 1970's, they must be using some kind of VooDoo over there } :--)) MtionVFX s Awesome !
