I have been considering going with Plum Paper for my next planner because it is customizable. I didn't know there was a disc bound option for Plum Paper. I love being able to add other things that I add to my planner throughout my year. Thanks for doing this. I love how you explain everything.

I just wanted to note that you can use a ballpoint pen for the monthly dashboard. Depending on the brand you might need 5 seconds for it to dry or not at all. I use the 8x10 homeschool planner and I don't use any markers and I have a death grip and write big. Lol. I just had to state that since I've never seen anyone mention ballpoint pens. Also I tend to use 1.0 size and rarely 0.7. Currently, I'm using Paper Mate Write Bros 1.0 blue (new design but the old works too).

I have a 7x9 vertical priorities planner on the way. FYI when I ordered I think it said the clear pocket was only available for coiled options, not discs. The sharpie pen is the only one I like on their paper.

Thanks for the heads up on that Sarah:) I can see why you like the sharpie pen best on their paper;)

I would love PP if they changed their paper. I have tried it and it drove me crazy that even ball point pen needed time to dry or it would smear. I also noticed the paper had a lot of ghosting even though it was a heavy weight paper. I love all their options. I just wish I could get used to the paper. Love all your videos.
@AmandasFavorites3 жыл бұрын
I understand 100%. They did change their paper about 2 years ago...it is less slick to me than it was before...but still not a toothy paper like EC.
@annec81273 жыл бұрын
I have been buying my PP products unpunched and disc punching them myself, so this will help with consistency of the punch and save time! My personal planner is the neutral vertical. I don't mind the purpleish grey because it doesn't clash with whatever decorative washi I put down for the week. I usually pick just one and it's nice to not have to coordinate with the monthly color. I also use PP for my work notebook. I can organize my notes by project, using plastic dividers I got from Knockout Print Shop. Inkwell has them too. I agree on the cover hardness. My planner just sits, so I have the pretty PP cover, but my notebook travels, so I splurged on an Inkwell Press vegan leather cover. Talia and Levenger discs are what I use. I'm sure Inkwell is a similar high quality. Thanks for the great review, Amanda! ❤️💜

I haven't used PP for any period of time on the discs...but I have used Happy Planner for several months and their paper isn't as thick as Plum Paper and I had no issues at all with the Happy Planner paper. I really don't think you would have any issues with the Plum Paper on the Discs. But that is just my guess;)
@jkoucheki3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing. One thing I've noticed is that PP paper is MUCH heavier than EC paper. I actually really like both PP and EC paper even though they are VERY different, but if you are a person who travels with your planner, you may want to get PP broken down into 3 months instead of 6 months or 12 months. Just a thought.
@AmandasFavorites3 жыл бұрын
Good point...you are right their paper does weigh more in my mind (But I haven't put it on the kitchen scale yet to check). But both their papers are 80#...so very interesting that PP would weigh more.
@mistygriffith20883 жыл бұрын
Would the A5 size PP planner fit in a folio style TN? I wondered if it would be too thick.
@AmandasFavorites3 жыл бұрын
The way a TN is made with elastic won't hold the coil in. But there are a lot of A-5 covers that are made to slip in a coiled book like this. Cloth and paper , levenger and notiq come to mind right away...but there are many more too!

I was really excited to try PP when they had a disc punch option. I usually use a Happy Planner, so I was hoping to be able to swap the pages in and out. I was very 😢 to realize that the Plum Paper pages are shorter than the Happy Planner, which means that I wasn’t able to do this. I ended up selling the one I ordered to my roommate and went back to a Happy Planner. I will probably order from them in the future, because I do love the ability to customize the headings, but most likely it would be an A5 coil option.

Funny how we had different reactions to the December color being sad. I immediately thought oh its the most neutral for planning making it the most useful depending on how you celebrate. Now I can decorate for Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanzaa without having to cover up a color that doesn't really fit.
@AmandasFavorites3 жыл бұрын
LOL....If it was a light gray or even just clean and crisp black and white I wouldn't think "sad". That color just makes me think sad....but you are right. We all think so differently about the same thing;) Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
