This was another good one Jay! Not sure if I told you, probably did but there is a townhouse complex at the bottom of the Kennilworth access that actually has a float switch at the bottom of the lowest manhole and its wired to a bell. This was done because the main to the street was prone to plugging and this gave early warning of rising water..... Unless of course the tenants thought the bell was a fire alarm and called the fire department 😅.... Its happened lol

I use a 2" PVC pipe with a long sweep 90 on the end to place the jetter head in the line when I need to jet in a deep manhole. Sometimes I cut a bit off the sweep to get the correct angle to get it into the opening. Works to launch a camera too.

No Backwater Valves in the Townhouse complex?? What City was this?? Toronto had a program to put them in every house & I'm surprised the rest of the GTS didn't follow suit

This is mississauga and I don't see a lot of back water valves in mississauga unless it's a new home a lot of people are putting them in. I personally don't like them my self unless you have good access to them with cleanouts after the valve. Thanks for watching have a great day

Here in ontario Canada, all drains on private property have to go to a manhole before going to the city. So, if the blockage is before the road, it will back up the complex. I hope this helps, and we were using high-pressure water to clear the blockage down the line.

They charge by the hour I think it's around 1200 to 1500 for the minimum during the day. I could be wrong on those prices though
