Cuz, you are a master plumber. When glueing pvc pipes and fittings, I have always use a primer first then the glue. That part that you are referring to is not a coupling but a union. The rule of thumb with the Teflon tape, is about five to eight time around the thread in a clockwise direction. Happy Thursday 🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾

It’s a good idea to add a union so the ball valve can be replaced easily as well

I usually attach the lock off valve first, or don't join it until you know where it's going to line up. You could end up tightening everything and the lock off handle in a place you don't want it to be.

Hey Lyndon "Im not ah plumber to eh"; but I learned something from you today as (Jason RWYS) said you needed a "Union" not a coupling as you were saying. but in my not ah plumber mind ...its coupling (joining) stuff together ...Union now would be an easy breaking point..🤔to do repairs ...👍👊

You can reduce to 3/4 if that’s what you send to your pump. You can always use 1”.

Next time instead of using a slip jaw pliers use a pipe wrench or Cresent wrench
