What causes a high pitch ring or whistle when the boiler comes on? Its a brand new crown unit.

Looks like I have the same Crown gas boiler... only on it's 4'th year and throwing a code 4 error. Short cycles a few times, the error code goes away and then seems to run as should.

It sucks when a guy push-pulls a boiler. Also, no code update. Then, when you come in to fix, you have the responsibility to break the bad news. They should be glad you're there Chuck.

That needs air separator like a spirovent. And the expansion tank is not upside down. That is its position when installed on a scoop. Also is that a galvanized nipple on the water line after the auto fill valve. Of so thats a no no where I'm from. Inspectors or gas company would red flag the boiler for that. Especially being on the potable side.of the backflow

My mothers apartment has 6 radiators but only 2 that are actually working. The other 4 have been turn off at the valve because they make her apartment to hot and also make alot of noise. Banging all day and night. Would it be bad for the boiler or the pipes themselves just having the 2 radiators working ?? Would this cause problems to the rest of the pipes and boiler,mm Note.. I did tilt the banging radiators several inches but it did not make any difference in the. Noise. So I turn those 4 off. The crown boiler is has an 85,000 BTu output and a 103,000 BTU input. Currently working nicely. I drain all the water this weekend and fill it back up. unclog the sight glass, pigtail and the pressure gauge. I lower the pressuretrol settings to 1.5 PSI on the main and .5 on the differential. This boiler heats up a second floor apartment. Do you think these are the right settings?? I would really appreciate your input on this. Thanks you.
