At my cabin i buried a plastic 45 gallon drum on its side with a couple pieces of plastic weeping tile as a grey water sorta septic system - been running a few years with no issues. ( no winter use lol as I am a bit north of you, north of highway 17)

No. We only use the plumbing seasonally
