First of all your doing a stellar job on the bus, great crew and tons of love. So your question on the PVC to the tanks your rubber grommet is the best way to go, on my first coach I copied the home builders per code way and that was with ABS that's what its made for when it comes to waste water and the toilet ABS handles hot water better than standard PVC but you can buy CPVC it's made for hot water but would be a waste of money in my eyes I also put the gray water over the top of the black water tank and ran a 3 inche gate valve from the gray into the black water to rinse out the black water so I didn't have to fill the black water with fresh water and just dump it again less time less water and happier people waiting to dump their tanks that are behind you. Anyway I'm rambling on love your work and its really paying off the coach is going to be beautiful Thanks for the ride and happy trails.

Bed frame angle is just about the worst thing to use for any kind of fabricating when welding is involved, good luck with it and keep a close eye on the frame !!

Did u guys consider other options like a coach/touring bus or a finished RV? Coach buses have more head room, huge storage bays and get better fuel mileage. How did u decide on a schoolie and will u provide the finished overall cost of your bus reno?

Eileen Murphy most people choose the school bus because the normal motor home is fibreglass and plastic and they never hold up well in an accident however steel or aluminum school buses tend to hold up a lot better and longer plus with a bus you can make it you're own

Is there any reason you didn't wire the cargo bay lights to a toggle switch, like a pressure switch, so that they come on when you open the cargo bay doors and turn off when you close them, like a trunk light works on a car? Just curious. Great job so far. I can't wait for the final reveal!

Bed frames are not suitable for structural welding. They are made from very brittle steel that will easily crack and break apart, especially after welding.

Our first bus used bed frame material for holding up the tanks and it held up great for over 8 years now.
