I enjoyed your quick travelogue of Winter People terrain. When you mention the old grocery store... which was the Wrights' store in the movie... I saw (too) briefly in your film that the front of the former store apparently has been converted to a residence. I visited the area not too long after the filming had been done there in the late 1980s (the film was released in 1989) and the clock/tower that Wayland Jackson (Kurt Russell) built in the story (i.e. movie-prop) was still standing in front of the then-vacant old store.

Many, many years ago my wife and I stubbled upon Plumtree when the clock tower was still standing. The last time we were in that area we spoke to some of the residents and they told us the clock tower eventually got into a sad state and they had to remove it. I'm fairly sure we have some old photographs of the clock tower. If I ever find them I'll try to post them somewhere. Loved the movie BTW.
