I almost never comment because others say it so much better than I can. But oh my goodness, how my back was hurting just watching you move the tables, blocks and plants! When I was your age, I could and would do the same. Now that I’m in my early 70’s I am paying dearly for all that! I know you have Gorilla carts so please start using them and also the hand trucks or even the forks on the tractor to move heavy things. Your back and the rest of your body will thank you!! 👵🏻💕

I couldn’t agree with you more! I am now in my early 70s and I’m also pain for all that heavy lifting I did when I was younger! When were young we think we can do it all!😊

I didn't do gardening but I have done heavy pulling and lifting pallets of boxes and ice. They get up to 2000 lbs, it's hell on your back and legs. I'm almost 50 and I'm paying for it already. Easy to not think about what you will feel like later in life when you're doing the hard work. Lots of ibuprofen!

Watching Laura do this physical work reminds me of my history. At my age 44 I bought 68 acres, built a house, built barns, brought in my four horses, started and maintained vegetable and flower gardens and thought no problem I can do it all. And I could. Still do to a point. However, today at age 73, I have had two knee replacements, rotator cuff repair and spacers installed in my spine. My point: preserve your body!

You go, girl! Your forearms were probably so sore the next day. Those cinder blocks are no joke. I moved 90 cinder blocks by myself when I created my raised beds two yrs ago, and I was 60 yrs old then. 😊

Since we've been without power & internet, I'm so happy to be able to watch you again. We're in the foothills of western North Carolina, surrounded by storm devastation. Your videos are so welcome as well as a wonderful diversion from the tragedies around us. The high tunnels look like they are at home beside that barn! Thank you, Laura, for your inspiration. Your videos help me to see the beauty of nature even in the long, clean-up days ahead in our storm-torn state.

Which direction did you set up the new tunnel, east west or north south? What direction will the wind flow be for your area regarding the tunnel? What do you suggest is best? How clever to place your home-made tables on cinder blocks! What a great project! Would 4 feet be a better distance, if in fact snow does fall and collect in between the 2 tunnels? Four or five seems like a better choice of a pathway. You need more birch clusters around the 'flower garden"?

The field of green pasture is going to be stunning. I know the dream spring will start up this week. Think everyone has been waiting to see this in progress. It's going to make it all look more natural to the area. I sure could use a part time Paul or Bethany. Been under the weather for over a month. I did a lot of work before my first surgery. Reconstruction surgery failed so i had to have an above knee amputation. But everything is looking a little sad. My roses are in a good flush right now since weather has cooled down a bit at night. My son came over and picked up so many limbs tho small there were so many from storm Helena that passed thru Georgia. We were blessed no severe damage tho surrounding states were hit hard. Some parts of Georgia are still without power. An Ingles in our little town closed permanently due to no power. Store shelves are looking like it did Covid. Shelves are bare an it's hard for Trucks to get things delivered. Ingles base is in North Carolina and they were hit hard. Parts of interstates were washed away. Prayers for all who were effected by this storm.

Hi Patricia~ I am keeping YOU in my prayers as well as all of those affected by Helene's wrath. The devastation is difficult to comprehend! Thankfully, our wonderful weather services were able to warn us of what may come. Sadly, the outcomes were at the high ends of their predictions. (I can't fathom not having these services🙅) ... I pray you'll heal well & for the strength you'll need for the transition you have ahead. God speed❤ 🙋
