There was an additional add on crate called a muscle create which has additional gripping hands for the Plunderstrong. One of those additional hands has a magnet thtat will allow you to hold the plunderlings.

I have a few Plunderlings and love them. They're great. I wanted at least one Pluderstrong but maybe not now. That sucks cause the Plunderlings are great.

That’s how I felt and not looking at some of the other Plunderstrngs’s maybe some would have been a better pick, but I’m not spending another 70 on one.

The problem you are having with the hats means that Teal is from the first run of the Plunderlings. The second run of Plunderlings, and all the Plunderstrong and the Plunderlong have the magnets in the reverse order of the first batch of Plunderlings.
