Thank you for sharing your Amish experience! I didn't grow up Amish but generations from Switzerland and Germany did. The food tradition continued even though the religion did not. My grandmother was the first generation not to speak German. My family went from the Anabaptist to being Dunkards and The Brethren Church. I am very grateful for my heritage and now knowing Jesus as my Lord and Savior. God has brought us into the fullness of the Holy Spirit. How blessed I am.

Yes, Paris was a stretch, but it seems he had been thinking of marriage all the while. I felt good watching this movie, a balance of drama, believable acting and actual events that could happen today. It has been a long time that I could trust a movie to unite instead of push isolation & violence. This was a joy to watch!

I liked this movie. I happened to visit one Amish family. I had also visited the town known as 'Intercourse' in Pennsylvania and bought some items Amish community. It is really unique that they live opting out electricity, automobile, and many modern things even though they live in the midst of modernity. I observed that their livelihood depends on agriculture and dairy farming. They are good carpenters too. It is good this movie centres around such a lovely tiny community.

Good movie. As a Muslim, I find the Amish way of life very fascinating. They got many things right. I wouldn't mind living without electricity, cars and devices. We English could learn so much from them. Respect and salaam to the Amish community.
