If the recipe is asking for chili powder it wants the one in the container not the one in the packet. The packets chili powder is a mix that includes everything that you already put in the dish.

Chopping onions has never bothered me, I’m not sure if it’s cos I keep them in the fridge or cos I wear contacts. The best thing you can do to stop them making you cry is buy the packs of pre chopped ones. It’s so much easier. Personally I make most things the same every time unless I’m doing spicy chicken and rice and then I just use whatever spices I have in at the time.

Brulees are overcooked due to the direct heat of the oven that why they normally cooked in a water bath. Usually fill the water 3/4 up the containers. If you get bubbles from mixing just hit it slightly with the Brulee gun and they will pop.

I have to ask, do you not have to let your water taps run for a bit? In the U.K. we won’t use the water straight away we run them for a minute first 😂 I don’t know why it might just be a British thing. Same as with a kettle we won’t fill it with the water until it’s been ran for a while first 🤷🏻‍♀️

Cris next time you have to chop a bunch of onion take a slice of bread and fold it in half and put it in your mouth (you might look funny doing it lol) but my Grandma swore by it and that is what I grew up doing it and the onion smell doesn't bother your eye much if at all.

Wanna know something really great about chili? You can freeze it (if you don't add the beans to what you freeze)! I don't know if you 2 do that, but hey! If not, you can freeze the leftovers, and all you'll need is 7 boxes of Club crackers for Angel!! ;)

Yummmmmm!!! Angel, gat Crystal a mandolin. Not the musical instrument, it's a cutter for food. She will never have issues with onions again. Crystal, Calphalon pans? They look like it, and I have some too. The best ever! And your kitchen aid is bright red and I love it! Last thing... what brand of knives? The reason youre crying from the onions are the juices or moisture youre releasing from the onions using either a dull or wrong type of knife. Use a proper chef’s or cutting knife that is very sharp to cut your onions.
