I have Cap in my 5th house. Since 2008 - Went through a divorce, single parenting and then the death of my second spouse and became a single parent again. Also neurological and mental health challenges in my oldest and youngest children (youngest is a Cap sun). My oldest child moved out this week and it’s not been a smooth transition. I have been meditating on the Pluto transit and had some insight but this timely message was the golden key to truly understand. Beautiful and deeply healing for me today.

Thank you for sharing you experience! Pluto has been transiting my 7th house since 2008 and I’ve experienced the same issues, minus the 2nd spouse. I just haven’t been able to bring myself to enter into another committed relationship/marriage. Now, I feel ready and I want to be so perhaps the movement of Pluto in Aquarius will bring this?!

I FEEL you transition has been my 5th House for me too in Cap, moon and Saturn square at 29 degrees there too , I've had kids come back home, leave and come back again,putting a strain on marriage of 40 some years.... I've been more creative , esp in the home, and the last 2 yrs a health challenge, but I give Saturn that credit when in my 6th house,its still in my 6th until March,and im finishing this health stuff up..I , learned better self Care because of Saturn ... With it going into aqua I think it will still be in my 5th for a bit yet, but just getting out of Capricorn will be relief for me ... GOD LUCK VIRGO ❤❤❤

Capricorn in the 8th House. In 2008 mental health symptoms peaked due to trauma; collapse and discharge from the military. Since then striving for stability and healing. Ancestral patterns of abuse, addiction, incest, and self-neglect came to the surface. Attachment issues. 3 marriages and divorces, 4 children, 3 cross-country moves, building 3 businesses from scratch, judicial problems, many health problems. 3 degrees in Psychology. Facing the demons of the lower world and working my way up and out. A lot of hard transformative work of both inner and outer life. I have now built a beautiful, resilient life and purpose from the ground up.

Pluto has been going through my 4th house. It has been chaotic up until recently. Going through it, I don’t realize how much it was needed. Now, in reflection, I see how generational patterns have been broken through these breakdowns and growth/rebirth has happened in my home life. I have several planets in Capricorn as well… overall, it has been a bit rough…but very much needed for my growth.

I have Libra rising too and this long transit has included an opposition to my Sun in Cancer and the Pluto square. It has been a completely transformational period that has at various times felt like a pressure cooker and a volcano. As we come to the end of it I feel ready 😅 to move into a new stage of development, knowing that I have given/given up everything to this initiatory journey, in particular relating to motherhood. I now have three amazing children (two with Capricorn rising and one anaretic degree Capricorn Sun). Pluto has been in my 4th house, on my 29 degree moon in Cap. 3 Years ago I ended the contract with my husband of 37 years. That relationship was beautiful and we have 2 amazing grown children and as a family we are super close and still do vacations and visits as a family. I was called by a deep knowing that I needed to pursue the work of the soul. I moved to another state in the middle of the pandemic, started to re study astrology- Im in Adams 1st year program, started to play guitar and Uke, and reinvented myself. It was one of the darkest nights of the soul I have had and the joys, illuminations and profound insights have been through this aspect!!

As a Cap rising, Pluto has ragdolled me (lovingly) for the last 15 years in ways I am not even sure how to describe at times. It’s been gut wrenching (literally developed several illnesses within this time clearly related to self worth). I am excited for Pluto in Aquarius so I can truly put forth and redefine myself and my values after this long 1st house transit. Pluto has been in my 8th Whole Sign house tho as my natal Saturn is in Cap too, in Placidus, it’s in my 7th house. Both fit. I have experienced LOTS of losses; my career loss in 09, my relationship, 2 siblings, my Father, my home, even my car & drivers license! I have known for some time that with each of these losses I was gaining a gift of some sort. Certainly the loss of my naïveté has been a part of that, and maintaining my joy and the gains of adult oriented wisdom has been some of the biggest gifts.

For the past 15 years, pluto in capricorn has been going through my 7th house. Been trying to find middle ground between who I am and what humanity expects of me. It's been rough, devastating actually. I have what many astrologers consider the 2 worst natal placements in astrology; chiron near my ascendant and saturn in my 7th. I've had to "re-parent" myself in order to rebuild my self-esteem from the ground up. Every person I've met over the last 15 years has taught me a very tough lesson about self-love and communication. I also am double Libra, I got evicted with my two young kids. Split up from their abusive dad after a 20 year relationship. Got screwed by my employer of 9 years and lost all my money. That said, I am happy today. Probably because I’ve had some time to put myself back together (the employer situation was recent though) and what Adam says here helps me make sense of so much. When talking about Tolkein, I remembered Nienna from his Silmarillion, who mourned for the wounds of the world & thus, sorrow was woven into the tapestry of life. Ancient Romans had parts of their gardens reserved for those in grief or great sadness. I don't think I was fully here til around 2, when someone slapped me & I woke up here. My father was a brute but he taught me to fight, so there's that. But after life's experiences, there were (are) joyful times that I learned to prefer the memory & general mood of! Yep. Totally resonate with the growth of which Capricorn has demanded of me with Pluto transiting my 4th house. I had my Dear Son in early 2008 and it has been a journey in parenting and growing up. Wanting to break from ancestoral patterns with no blue prints, trying to keep the ideal whilst floundering, drowning at times. It is hard going against the grain and I know I haven't made certain things easy for myself via choices made with those old patterns riding me strong. Grateful for my Sagi optimism, I know it will work out, how? I have not a clue and I just hope we all make it out, thriving. Not just surviving. Saturn is very prominent, in detriment in my natal chart, at night as well. Finding peace amongst the rip tide, seems to be my best bet. Life is hard. I am Cap Sun, 9th house. I have inherited a "wound" from my father. When I turned 18, he passed on to me a collection of spiritual and psychedelic books. As a kid, I never would've guessed that these things would've been of interest to him -- him being, on the surface, a conservative and a businessman. Up until that point I'd had zero exposure to such subjects... I ate up the whole collection, and began a lifelong relationship with subjects of philosophy, buddhism, shamanism, meditation and psychedelics. My Dad initiated me into these worlds, while also at times judging, fearing or even just ignoring where my love and passion for these things took me. It resonates with me that I have been carrying a burden like the ring. I was introduced to the possibility of liberation through these books. The gap between my own experience and what was promised (an end to suffering) was painful, and that pain propelled me forward on my path. Adding to that pain was the fact that my father 'sent' me on this journey but was not able to accompany me. Now, though, with the ways that my adventures have changed me and shaped me, with the ways I have healed and grown, and become the validator of my own journey -- I experience all of this as a gift. I am grateful. In changing my attitude, accepting my burden / my cross and seeing it as a gift, I feel that I am accessing that mature, adult, fatherly energy for the first time in my life. I am no longer resentful towards him for initiating me into the double-bind of his unlived life. I am the one who picked this up. And now, it is my honor to carry it. Very cool and so exciting for me to hear this account of the Capricornian journey -- I've never heard anything so closely capture my own journey of initiation, as it has played out with my father. By the way, he is an Aquarius Sun. I'll share one last image -- a dream. In the dream, my father and I are walking in a shallow river. He reaches down to find a leathery, softball-sized ball. He tosses it back to me casually. "Hey, check this out." I notice there is a little edge to the otherwise smooth sphere, and I start to pick at it. I peel and I peel, layers of leathery material unraveling, until at the very center, a carved stone eagle head is revealed. I have come to see this dream as symbolizing the way he initiated me. He did not know what he had tossed my way. For many years, I resented him for giving me this tremendous piece of work, with no knowledge or appreciation of what it was. (How much lighter a burden it would've been if he'd just winked at me as he tossed it back! If only he'd been in on it!) But -- the way I see it now, I am the one who caught the ball. I paid it attention. I found the opening. I peeled. I found the gift at the center. It has been my choice and my honor to have undertaken this work. Now I feel that I am the child and the Father at the same time. #grabbed

Crazy side note... I just realized, when I went to study abroad in New Zealand, my Dad flew out with me. We backpacked for a couple weeks before the semester started. One of the places we went together: Tongariro Crossing. Where some of the Mordor and Mt. Doom scenes were shot. That was in 2010, not long after he gave me that book collection. And not long after Pluto entered Capricorn in my 9th house. It is only in these past few months that I feel this loop is coming to a close. That I've actually thrown the ring into the fire. It's melting. No longer feeling that same pain. Becoming one with my Father. He was with me at the beginning and at the end. And the end was foreshadowed or implied in the beginning. So freaking cool.

Loved this talk. Pluto through my 4th house began with an opposition to my natal Saturn, then joined Mercury, my Sun and my IC in Capricorn. I always felt old. Far older than everyone around me. Pluto has been in my 6th house. In the spring of 2008, I was diagnosed with a chronic illness, and the last 15 years have been life-changing, goal-crushing, and certainly have given me the daily question of "what is possible today?" I would love to imagine that once Pluto has moved on, things will somehow be easier in the arena of my health. The gift of Pluto has been a keener appreciation for simple pleasures. I do worry a bit about it entering my 7th house - given my age (63) and my husband's age (74), I am likely to lose most of the people I love during its long passage there.

As of now, although i have two master degrees in engineering, i'm jobless, homeless and broke. Since December 2023, i have been asking god to take my life. I have 4th House Capricorn. I really needed this talk today. So much of what I’ve done over the past several years has been healing/repairing relationships ancestrally, with my parents, and with my idea of home. The idea of finding joy and embracing pleasure despite burdens was loud as I am feeling called to move and things in other areas of my life are about to take off, but my dad and my brother just got diagnosed with cancer. There’s this fun-house dynamic of exciting, fun, and scary things happening all at once, especially around home, foundations, and family. Wow this was super healing for me. After a lifetime of deeply spiritual hard lessons (many in the Amazon after years of living and survinving there and working with Entheogens) and many close encounters with death including sickness, ive been feeling so tired of life and cynical. I used to be able to carry these burdens of life with a dark humour as you mention and have been reflecting on that during this time while so insanely exhausted of the burden carrying, how to surpass that and what is my medicine to help shift me beyond that. Both of my parents are Capricorns, and by now I have accepted them for who they are, despite the fact that they could not express emotions as I had hoped. After leaving my home country in 2010, I finally settled down and found my home abroad. When I wished my Capricorn Dad a happy 76th birthday, he joked about still having a few months left of his pension, saying, 'Well, looks like I'm guaranteed to stick around for a few more months at least, just to collect it!' I just loooove that eggplant purple gorgeous walled room, Adam. The shades of blue in the linens and the nightlight glow in the shady darkness are just so pretty in there. My son, has his ascendant is the end of Capricorn, almost zero Aquarius, with Neptune/Uranus conjunct. He is applying to go to graduate school, but he does not want to take out a student loan. He does not think he can find enough scholarships. He was very fortunate to have gone previously to school on a full ride, need based academic scholarship that had reached out to him when he was in high school. He wants to be a digital archivist.

Adam, I love how you pull in Lord of the Rings into this. "This is the ring you have to bear, Frodo!" should be the new "cross you have to bear" phrase! We know Frodo. Oh, and doesn't he have to go through some permanent therapy at the end of LOTR.... he doesn't get to settle back into Hobbiton. He's been forever altered by the ring and can't reintegrate.... I always feel sad for that part of the story. His price for carrying the ring was the loss of his ability to return completely, even with wisdom, into his community.

I always feel that Frodo was saved by Sam…and that Sam represents his higher (christed self). Frodo did not throw the ring in the fire, but Sam did. Frodo’s old self did die and went to the Undying Lands (eternal life) and Sam went on to live a joyful life with family and community, from a deeper place of love and less fear ❤ it was a hero’s journey of initiation 🕊 to finally laying down the cross (the ring) and being reborn.

Perhaps its my Cap Ascendant that appreciates your deeper dives into ancient astrology, past the shallows of astrology apps (such a revulsion for those- Capricorn again haha). My crosses have been a few hard things, including childhood trauma and death of my infant son by sepsis. Disease has also tested me... in resoect to all things being connected. I am irreverent, but have lost my sarcasm as I noticed it distances ppl. Tapping into my inner child in therapy at 55 😊 Everything u said resonates!!!

I have a stellium in Capricorn in my 4th house, being Saturn my dominant planet. I have been enjoying your videos on Capricorn and Saturn a lot. I watched an old video of yours yesterday about why people hate on Saturn and let me say, you’re one of the few astrologers that sees the REAL benefits of these energies. I had a very difficult life, but now I can say that I can achieve anything that I imagine for my life and my future. Pluto was transiting my 6th house and through this whole time, I was studying to become an acupuncturist and then got licensed and spent the last twelve years building a beautiful practice. Sun and Venus in the 6th with Pluto transiting there, and I helped a lot of people have babies!

Great talk! Thank you. I’ve had pluto in Capricorn in the 4th and wooo, not for the faint of heart. Both my siblings and both of my parents dealt with extreme addiction issues. Each person attempted suicide at least once (several attempts for both siblings). My brother fell off a 2 story building and sustained a life altering brain injury. It has been intense. I’ve had to learn how to be a responsible support without getting obliterated by caretaking/rescuing. My whole family has been on this absolutely gnarly but exquisite journey. We’ve learned a lot about love. We are all alive. I feel very grateful for it now.

You really captured the heart of this transit. I especially resonated with the concept of the ring and the duality of Saturn. As Pluto is finishing up its labor of love in my 5th house, I can see how the journey has been a process of multi-dimensional growth. Astrology has been kind of like a secret ring that has granted me special powers while going through treacherous and dark places while also at times it has led me to the edge of destruction. Ive learned how to hold a secret with integrity. I used to think that was a contradiction.

Thank you for this video shining light into the Capricorn archetype. I have capricorn rising, Sun, and Mars, at 22, 24 and 26 respectively. There's not enough room to describe my experiences of Pluto transiting these sensitive points in my chart, especially 2019 through 2022. Like you describe in the video, I'm grateful when I am able to embody the wise elder despite the pain and suffering that has been concentrated in my life as of late, and feel disappointed and foolish when I slip back into the shadow realm with bitterness and anger and coldness. I say good riddance to Pluto as he exits Capricorn, and also pray that I continue to let 'his' teachings deepen my compassion and understanding for myself and everyone else in this human experience 🙏

Since Pluto went into Capricorn I have been in h-e(double hockey sticks), to borrow a phrase from my deceased mother. Pluto started its journey through my 12th house by opposing my 1 degree mars in cancer. Later the transiting Saturn/Pluto conjunction, in the 12th, semi-squared my 5th house sun. Pluto also triggered a grand cross in my chart that included sedna. Whew!! Pluto is finally leaving Capricorn for Aquarius. I sure learned some things. And lost everyone. Saturn, which rules my 12th house, is conjunct my midheaven and in a tight semi-square with my cancer mars, which started this whole thing when Pluto opposed. Looking forward to Pluto in Aquarius in my first. No one will be able to stop me from being myself. One of the things I learned with pluto in capricorn through my 12th, was that I don't have to be a 'nice' person. Being a 'nice' person attracted a whole lot of narcisists and they nearly did me in. Appropriate kindness, yes. 'Niceness", no more.

Very interesting approach to Capricorn. In my 3rd house, very harsh, sad, loveless childhood, yet, I never felt it the way it was, but always accepted the hardship with a smile, courage, optimism and sarcasm. As s little child, hungry, neglected,abodoned, .... neighbors would ask where I got the big smile and never felt, poor me. I can totally relate to that what you're saying here. Pluto has been in my 7th house. Two big relationships within that time. First was my kindergarten friend and secret love for 25ys - should have stayed a friendship b/c together it was to intense and volatile. Then my husband for the past 12 years - a Cap rising - who was challenged me (cancer rising) and parented me in ways I never was as a younger girl. Third decan Capricorn. I carried the hard things for family members. I did a good job of it. But they are all gone now, and I register that I am white haired, and have to start setting it all down. Fifth house Capricorn. A family with very young children just moved in as neighbors. That is a huge change in the quiet rural canyon. I've always had a warped sense of humor. It carries me through life.

Crying here. Natal Saturn in the 12 in Virgo. My natal Jupiter is at 29 Capricorn in the 5 th. My husband has Capricorn rising. He is so much of what you described, never, ever, not lying, does anything but work. We have been through building up our own house so he could fulfill his lifetime wish of doing that, only to go through floods and finally the Paradise fire which wiped us out. Start all over. I can not remember the last time I had any real fun except the few moments when I am with my grandchildren. Felt sad and the heavy weight of Saturn my entire life. Next Pluto will transit my moon in Aquarius in the 16th. Where’s the fun, trying to find joy in small things.
