Remember the night well, it broke my heart! That team at their best were awesome but what a shocking defence. What made it even more gut-wrenching was getting relegated the next season, with only Mark Patterson and Mark Edworthy being bothered to pull their fingers out. Absolute disgrace.

I was there. Was a tense electric atmosphere. We just didn't have any pace at the back, and I don't think Richard Landon was quite the caliber we needed. Bad justice though, we finished 11 points above Burnley that season.

Best season ever that 1 ... shame we lost this game ... I think we finished with 15 pts more than Burnley .... also Burnley had only won 4 away games all season ...

I'm a Stockport fan and couldn't believe it when the result of this match came through. We all thought Argyle would be our Wembley opponents, and that would have made for a far better game, as well...

The racist chanting aimed at John Francis all night doesn't come across very well in this clip, likewise the full can of coke thrown at the linesman (hence the reference midway through) is glossed over. Still good old days....
