Great little build!!!! Doesn't take much time or wood to build and VERY VERY useful. Always take your plywood out for a walk before you cut it's life up into smaller pieces. Got a good chuckle out of that part of your video. Thanks.

Nice, found this because I have to carry my sheet goods quite a ways. I just decided I going to clamp a set of wheels on one end and a handle like yours on the other end. I've a ramp to push up/pull down and a new dog pot-hole in the yard everyday. Thanks for getting the ideas to come together. Jim Y

I looked through a number of videos for a DIY sheet carrier and yours is so simple, thin, and lightweight compared to ones I saw that were overbuilt, with 2x4's even, and awkwardly hard to use.

Wow. That's a real "very simple and useful...and I never thought of anything like it." A huge help for me (back issues make it hard for me to handle a full sheet). Thanks very much. A real Father's Day gift!!!

Maybe more of us should bring our 8x4s of plywood for a walk. It could help promote a better, deeper understanding of the product and help with bonding. Personally I think sheet goods are so miss understood. :) Thanks for the tip

Adding some kind of strap or belt to around the opposite shoulder would also help bear the brunt of those heavy 3/4 inch sheets as well. Could be used for drywall too, great video.

Built this, works great. A couple of tips: - Don't make the outside (tapered) bit too high, or it's unnecessarily hard to lift a sheet of 3/4" or 1" over it (heavy). I ended up knocking an inch off my first build. - I added a couple of wedges to each side of the face that sites on the ground so the carrier freestands a bit easier without falling over. This makes it easier if you're lifting a sheet from flat (trailer, stack, etc) and putting it onto the carrier directly, rather than putting it down then doing a separate move to life it onto the carrier while you're holding it.

Another simple but effective build from you Neil, thanks mate. My only concern is, will someone bring out a version with threaded rod, and add the word "jig" to it? 1/2 is easy. 3 @ 1/2 at a time is easy. You start getting into 5/8 4x8 MDF... or 12' drywall... No offense, but 1/2 4x8 is one of the easiest, lightest boards to carry. It would be more impractical for me to use your tool than grab 2 or 3 sheets and go.
@PaskMakes7 жыл бұрын
No offence taken Eric but you must be far stronger than me if you can carry 3x half inch sheets at a time! btw it was a 3/4" sheet I was carrying which I think most average guys would find heavy enough. :)
