Lay the paper over the floor and up the wall of van and run the pen in the crease to scribe for anyone else thinking of doing this.

Good luck with the build just a couple of quick tips......Two lengths of 3x2 (63x38)CLS timber cut to around 2 metres each will fit snug into the square cutouts running along the top of your plastic work benches making it a lot more sturdy when cutting sheet materials. Screwing 600x2000mm plywood on top of the CLS and you'll have a sturdy workbench for your chop saw. Also jigsaw blades with the teeth facing downwards will give sheet materials a clean cut on the face side.😁

I maybe going overboard on my van...I have so far on sides and ceiling first put 10mm dodo insulation then the recycled plastic bottle loft insulation then 25mm insulation board then 5mm insulation vapor barrier plus filled all gavitys and foil taped..now for my floor thinking of 10mm dodo insulation batten then 25mm insulation board 5mm insulation vapor barrier 5mm underlay then 7/8 mm laminate flooring...been watching your progress and following your tips

Loving these videos recently acquired a second hand fiat ducato and this is helping me greatly only thing I need to ask on the first part of the floor project you never mentioned what the back stuff was between the metal floor runners.

Thanks. So the black stuff is the 6mm dodomat closed cell foam insulation. I used it on the wall panels too and then cut it and stuck it down between the floor rib things to fill the gap. Perfect thickness.

Why didn’t you just make a template of the whole van and lay on top of your ply sheets? Also when laying out the battens did you not account for where the joins would be.

great videos - really informative. Are the floor battens required do you think, or could you just lay the kingspan on the van base and glue the ply to the top of it (sort of like a SIP)?

Thanks Lee. I know some people do a floating floor, so what you suggested but without the glue. The battens are useful for providing extra secure screwing for things attached to the floor. Like the Truma boiler or seat structure. Also I wonder if the kingspan would squeak or compress at edges eg where you step into the van?

why all fllor's battens are blue, is it a treatment that everyone does?

Just because I used roofing battens from Wickes and they are treated blue from the store.

What router bit did you use for the biscuits?
