PM: Australians would have done it ‘tougher’ if inflation was ‘six per cent’

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says it would have been “tougher” for Australians if inflation was still at “six per cent”.
“I know that families, many of them are doing it really tough, but they would’ve done it tougher if the inflation rate was the same as the one that we inherited, which was six per cent,” Mr Albanese said during Question Time on Monday.
“We are increasing wages, having tax cuts, energy bill relief, freeze on medicines, making a substantial difference with all these practical measures.”

( eg passports just to.name one! ).This has been going on for years under both governing political parties Multinationals have been calling AUSTRALIA " treasure Island " for two decades as they exploit consumers to the bone and our corrupt and greedy politicians have given them open slather,no doubt receiving kickbacks.You are prime minister now Albanese,and if this lousy,offensive response to the level of inflation is all that you can come up with I say that you are unfit for office!! Inflation was Running at 2-3% for Years, it went up to 6% because of supply Limitations after Covid, NOT Out of Control Labor Spending !

The issue is he can manipulate the inflation rate. You can bet they have invented all sorts of new ideas and terms to avoid the top inflation rate. When he can't lie about it - is the cost of living. The cost of living labor has no control over. And it's the combination of all labors polices - that equal higher inflation = cost of living. The fact is - labor has the cost of energy from fuel to electricity up - and still rising. So any business that needs fuel or electricity and that is almost every business - their costs are much higher. Electricity would be much higher in cost terms now - compared before labor took office. And he can try all the lies he wants. The reality - he cant hide is the cost of living. And that cost - is the one labor has lost control of.

Tax cut is 3% in the 18k to 45k bracket 30 cents and 37 cents in the dollar same for 45k to 135k and 135k to 190k respectively the 45 cents will now apply at 190k instead of 200k

Inflation for the average Australian is currently well over 6 percent. All the basic items categories eg food, rent, utilities, insurance, etc are running in excess of 6 percent price increases. How they come up with 4 percent when the main items that takes up someones wage are closer to 10 percent in some cases is a total mystery to me. Clearly the official CPI figure does not represent how the average Australian lives.
