PM Dawn - Paper Doll [Club Mix] (1991)

PM Dawn came on the scene in the early '90s with a new approach to rap - so different, there were MANY arguments as to whether they were actually "rap" or not. Their songs were so melodic, the lyrical delivery so gentle, and their image was radically different from the leading rap of the time.
So whether it's an "Easy Listening Rap" as some called it, or "Spoken Word R&B" or whatever it is, they put out some fantastic music! A year later, they'd have a huge hit with a traditionally sung ballad, an ability that was on display with this single that combined the spoken word and singing styles to create a rhythmic masterpiece, and a time capsule of the state of pop music in 1991!
