Like the Irishman asked directions, I wouldn't start from here. But from here I would play:- hard brexit, capital controls, wealth tax £1 trillion. Flood down economics. Spectacular equity release. Boom!

The EU applies 'sanctions' to many things. Non-EU food for instance. It rather has to where otherwise its farmers would be bankrupted. Integration of contradictory interests was always going to be 'difficult'.

@@yorkieelliot2487 That's not the point. Many of the pro-brexit advertising campaigns were full of exaggerated statistical figures that were not representative of the benefits of leaving the EU. Now that these have come to light, it would be logical to see whether the majority of the people still wish to leave the EU or not. I never said that we should keep voting until we agree to stay.

@@JamesKightleyDK . But that is the point and it's absolute. Just because it's a bit choppy at the moment doesn't mean that it won't get better. I voted to stay in the EU and have accepted that we are leaving just like everyone else should be doing. The more I see of how we have been treated by our so called European colleagues I'm glad we are leaving!

They're a afraid of a 2nd referendum because they're sure people will vote to remain, on a second attempt. And that will make the parliament look ridiculous for not being able to do what they promised. People will vote remain due to the politicians' lack of ideas.

What has Frenchmen protesting fuel taxes got to do with the United Kingdom leaving the EU? And to answer your question; to remain the 5th richest economy in the world and have access to the largest trade market in the world, freedom of movement across the EU, influence within the EU, to keep the many businesses dependent on our EU membership and the convenience it offers. What do we have to gain by leaving?

Treasonous May said No Deal is Better than a BAD DEAL but keeps pushing the EU /May WA deal which is the worst possible deal. EFTA membership is the best way to secure the Brexit deal that gives us free access to the Customs Union and enables external Trade Treaties from day 1. No need for a back stop and no £39B gift for the EU. Plus a reduced annual fee of £200m instead of the £7B rising to £15B+ next year. Even as a stepping stone EFTA is the best way to leave the EU.

If the Scots vote for independence from the UK, will the government make them have a second vote to make sure? If Ireland votes for reunification, will the government make them vote again to check it's really what they want? Is the requirement to win 2 in a row for it to 'count' the future of democracy in the UK? If not, why not? Why does 'more votes = more democracy' only apply to brexit?

Admittedly I am rather bias in multiple ways in my interpretation of Brexit. I was just shy of the voting age when the referendum came around and myself, along with many of my peers, were bitter about such a monumental decision regarding our future being made without our input. I'm wholly in favour of the people's vote and I completely accept it's a selfish request on my part as more than anything else I want to have a say. The PM claims having another referendum would be, and I quote, devisive. As such she suggests that the decision would be inappropriate yet that is the very nature of a vote. Of course the nation will be divided and whatever the outcome there will be controversy. Leavers will be insulted by the notion that we need a second vote, but remainers will make the argument that the promises made during the campain for leave were based on false information and as such the public was manipulated. The way I see it, the situation has changed tremendously and people are better informed now than they were before so where is the harm in confirming the will of the people with all the FACTS on the table?
