Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni at the venue of the G7 Summit in Italy. Both leaders greeted each other with namaste gesture and briefly exchanged greetings.
He also met Pope Francis at the Outreach Session of the Summit.
Earlier, PM Modi held separate bilateral meetings with world leaders on the sidelines of the event. PM Modi met French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
PM Modi also participated in G7 Outreach Session on ​Artificial Intelligence, Energy, Africa and the Mediterranean. President Macron in his address at the outreach session praised PM’s initiative on AI and DPI as G - 20 chair.

Delhi LG grants prosecution sanction against Author Arundhati Roy for alleged Hate Speech made way back in 2010. Sanction based on complaint filed by activist Sushil Pandit.
Governor V K Saxena has accorded sanction to prosecute author Arundhati Roy and a former professor in Kashmir under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for allegedly making provocative speeches at an event here in 2010, Raj Niwas officials said on Friday.
In October 2023, L-G Saxena had authorised the prosecution of author Roy and former Central University of Kashmir professor Sheikh Showkat Hussain for allegedly delivering "provocative speeches".
