I like the work Modi has done till now. I went to attend that meeting in Sydney but unfortunately I left in the middle. I thought that he was going to speak in English to communicate with all people who are residents of English speaking country and understand English. I believe Modi is best for his job now and I will listen to his speech after finding good translator. You are saying Modi is a great orator. He is at best a poor orator. His grasp of language (both Hindi and English) is poor. He pauses at irregular intervals. He recites what his PR team gives him. And most importantly, he is superficial. On all other counts, he is pathetic. And this I have gradually realized after I wasted my vote on him in 2014. Great orator was Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Modi is not 1% of him. In today's world, great orator is Yogendra Yadav and Kejriwal.

I'll agree with you Pankaj M, but for me great oratory does not necessarily include language / delivery skill or depth of intent. Also as far as delivering what his PR team gives him; isn't that what most politicians do? Difference is, Modi's speeches are made up of never before heard topics. Obviously our politicians need to hire better PR people. But I digress.. Great oratory for me is the stuff of legend, Hitler & Mussolini, mostly screamers.. Churchill, sounded like he was ready for a heart attack in most speeches.. Gandhi.. droner.. Thatcher.. school principal.. Nehru.. well lets just say he had good diction and better speech writers.. Good oratory for me is one that captures an audience, period. In my lifetime of 45 years I have never been able to sit through a politician giving a 1.5 hr speech, multiple times. For me, that I consider good oratory. Also.. more importantly, we are all too ready to disrespect our politicians and leaders in a public forum.. hence the share of this post.
