The quota system at public universities in the country will be retained but students from all races who excel in their studies will get places in institutes of higher learning, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the Temu Anwar programme at Universiti Utara Malaysia in Kedah on Saturday (July 8).

The worst part which what most people don't understand ,those days civil servants with Darjah 6 , LCE and MCE - work wise tip top. But now with diploma , degree and PHD - ZERO ,don't know anything. Not keen in learning the job, don't want to learn from their seniors (nanti jatuh standard ) , waiting for Friday and Monday Blues (taking EL or MC - because lazy to go to office after 2 days break). No, academic qualification comes first before "skin qualification"... if you cant make it through, you cant get admission into them - it's that simple! Speaking about bumiputra rights, academic qualification wise, it has never been affected as MARA is a thing and has always been there for the poor/unaffordable, and as per this video, quota system is enforced throughout the years and has never been lifted, and will never be lifted! Do not discredit those who are born in the poor/unaffordable situation and yet still worked their ass off for such qualification. this is something of a fantasy for the community of the population. How do you know that when you get straight As in your result, it shows that you were the best and top ranked student? Kids nowadays are brighter than before - there could have been thousands of student obtaining results with flying colours. But there are limited spots and scholarships available. Petronas or telekom or JPA have limitations as to how many new students they could sponsor or the budget they have for each financial year.

I prefer to not rejoice at this assertion by Anwar because it assures of a continuous marginalization of the others. Many have qualified for coveted courses of study in the past and the present but they are denied the opportunity to pursue their goals locally because of this. The expectation was high that fair play would finally come to sit with us but NO he has confirmed that it will not. It seems that he is playing a balancing act now due to the pressure of other competing parties to try and grab the reins of power. He is in a difficult position and I suppose that the best that he can do in the circumstances is to dish out the worst for us.

400,000 calon SPM. 2.7% atau 10,000 dapat semua A. 42,000 calon ambil STPM. 2% atau 850 dapat PNGK 4 atau markah penuh. Mereka ini merupakan pemangkin masa depan negara. Aset modal insan yang tak ternilai. Entah berapa banyak usaha dan modal telah dibelanjakan negara: sekolah, gaji pendidik, biasiswa, perubatan, dll. dan selepas tapisan demi tapisan, negara dikurniakan dgn hanya 2 atau 3% modal insan cemerlang. Berapakah nilai atau kos telah dibelanjakan untuk seorang? Betapa untung nya sesebuah negara luar jika seorang dari hasil cemerlang negara ke sana . Tanpa mengeluarkan sebarang modal, dapat insan cemerlang secara percuma.

Meritocracy system is for individual fairness while quota system is for racial fairness. Its a hard choice to do. If we want to abolish quota system we need to abolish vernacular system altogether. It won't be fair otherwise
