Nice work, thanks! The picture with the wiring TXD and RXD should move each one pin up. The RXD wire is connected with the SET pin. I connected the Arduino with a relay, so I can switch off my home ventilation when too much pollution is entering the building.

Not all the pins of Mega support software Serial.

Those pins which accept interrupt can be used as a software serial. Check the ATmega2560 datasheet.

I am using an arduino MKR wifi 1010 instead of an arduino UNO, would there be any changes in the wiring or the code that I would have to make? Also when I input the code into the Arduino software, I am not getting any data when I open the serial monitor. I was hoping you could help me. Thanks.

I have never used Arduino MKr. Please check the UART pin and check the connection too. You may need to do some changes in hardware only. Code should work.

PMS5003 is the best and highly accurate Particulate Matter/Dust Sensor. SDS011 costs around 5-10$ whereas PMS5003 is 30-40$ sensor.

Great video. Can this sensor be used in regulatory applications? In our application, we would need to confirm accuracy of the air flow rate meter and also to confirm there are no leaks. How would we do that with this sensor?

You can use it to calculate the air quality. But to measure air flow rate you need other sensor called Anemometer. To measure leaks you need pressure sensor like BME280.

Not at all. Both sensor needs different coding bcoz of different internal architecture and working method.

MQ135 detects Air Quality Index in PPM. But PMS5003 detects particulate matter concentration and size.
