Just installed mine on my p229. It’s easy and look great! I order extra shims just in case i ever have to re shim it. Took me 5 min to do. I practice putting in vise and put it in the best position I could wrench it down on it and torqued it on fluid motion perfectly.

Just installed mine on my 19.5 with a Zev barrel. A little worried at first with how many shims I needed, but man this thing looks slick! Can’t wait to get some rounds through it tomorrow!

Glock 19 wth SilencerCO barrel. Used included shims: Two .010s, one .005, and one .002 making up a total of .027 as the comp needed to rotate 270 degrees for a snug fit

Im Glad they updated this install process, I followed their old process to a T a few years ago, and it totally seized the comp to my barrel at a 10° cant, and destroyed the comp trying to get it back off, because they recommended you put the loctite on first. Ever since then I've never bought one again and ofc didnt get a refund, but glad they're updating their install video. Sadly I was a newbie to gunsmithing and didnt know any better at the time

I know this might be a dumb question, but on e on to clean the gun u just wont be able to seperate barrel and slide right or do u break off comp each time?
@tajjacobi64167 ай бұрын
Correct, it is a semi-permanent installation. It is still very possible to get a thorough cleaning of the slide and barrel while it is attached and does not require uninstalling to clean!

So if you have a threaded barrel you still need to use vice grips?

What about the part where you have like a milimeter to go but nothing will move it ? Comp is now stuck on and 98% of the way their but no dice. I'm so livid. No idea what the issue is but now I can't even get the comp off.

I just got a Walther PDP Pro X with the PMM compensator. I was actually breaking it down to clean it for the first time and realized I can't get the barrel out because the compensator is on there. So do you have to remove the compensator if you want to clean the barrel? I had assumed you would need to take the compensator off for cleaning, since you can't get the barrel out of the gun unless you do so. And then this would mean you would have to remove it to clean the barrel, and then go through this ridiculous process to put it back on every time? Someone please tell me I'm missing something here, otherwise I would have never bought this firearm!!!

We do not suggest removing the comp for cleaning. We have builds here with upwards of 50,000 plus rounds on them and we never remove the comp for cleaning. We recommend you take down the slide, remove the recoil spring, and let the barrel and comp float freely in the slide. Clean the underside of the slide as normal, and then clean the barrel and comp exterior. Run a patch or bore snake through the barrel and comp much like you would with a rifle. Put a few drops of gun cleaner in the port of the comp and use a brush to scrub out the carbon build up we suggest doing this frequently if you are a high round count user. Once fully cleaned, lube the entire barrel with a high-quality lube like GunButter and put a drop or two in the port of the comp, this will help for future cleanings as well.

You can put it in the vise with another method for protection. Leather, rags, your own 3d printed shims, other plastic shims, etc. Just something so the vise doesn't mar the comp. Obviously the block is going to be the easiest and most secure method.

This is why Radian is dominating the comp market. No shims or timing issues. The whole time I was watching this video, I was thinking; “there has to be a better way”. Not to mention, I can actually take the Radian off for cleaning. 🤦♂️

@@yockhuntertechnically they make comps for six guns but for only two different companies. I see your point. However, the Radian comp is legal in all fifty states because they don’t require a threaded barrel.

@@hc9987 unfortunately, you are absolutely correct. This is what most people seem to not understand about this firearm. Which is why I said it was disappointing. The truth is most people never clean their firearms. So congratulations on doing that much. Please relay your experience on more reviews of this firearm. We need to encourage Walther to do better.
